She's had serious roles in a couple of NHK Taigas (Musashi and Komyo Ga Tsuji) and Haru to Natsu...

I really love Yumeko-san (the mistress)... basically every character in Haikei is lovable.
Ninomiya is multitalented enough to be in one of those boybands. Its more challenging for him that way, so he says in an interview in the documentary Jounetsu Tairiku (summarizes the life of an artiste by following them for 3months). Why must he limit his talent to only acting when he'll get more opportunities and touch more lives (especially the young) by being an idol? He is also a really good songwriter.
btw, he was preparing to go to Hollywood to study film making by the age of 16 but had to put his dream on hold because the boss tricked him into debuting with ARASHI.
Maybe he'll be casted in more Hollywood movies after working in Letters From Iwo Jima. His English is quite good
getting on topic, HanaKimi ep1. Good cast but something was definitely lacking

I started "Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta!" last night
http://jdorama.com/drama.1048.htm
and I 'm pretty happy about it.
It's a light, mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law comedy but they've decided to play it as a rather broad comedy with Nakama Yuki over acting and mugging to beat the band.
Tanihara Shosuke plays the husband, and he seems to be having more fun with the role than you usually see from the guys in these shows.
And Matsuzaka Keiko seems to be bringing a bit of a Margaret Dumont quality to the Mother-in-Law. (Sorry if that's an obsure referance for the young among us. Ever see the Marx Brothers?)
Anyway, I'm just one episode in, but the show has a nice, goofy feel to it. Not all out slap stick, but it's not trying to be subtle either. I'm looking forward to watching some more of it. _________________ Manga is to Literature
