Yokoso, Nihon! ok, trying to say, Greetings from Japan!, but i think you get the main idea.
anyhow, i am just posting here from Akihabara, Japan, the otaku central of all japan and elsewhere.

just wanted to say hello to everyone, jaa, mata ne minna. honto ureshi desu ne.

Hey qilver!

Have a great time in Japan! Don't overdose on all those maids! hehe

So did anyone here vote on the Seven "new" Wonders of the World? They were announced on July 7th in Lisbon. Here they are:

Seven "new" wonders of the world including the (1)Great Wall of China, the (2)Taj Mahal and the (3)Colosseum in Rome were chosen overnight by nearly 100 million Internet and phone voters, upsetting purists.

The other wonders named were the centuries-old pink ruins of (4)Petra in Jordan, (5)the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, (6)the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru, and the ancient (7)Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico.

A few that I voted for won. Smile

Yesh, I heard that there was a lot of protesting that the Taj Mahal had the possibility that it wouldn't make it. In South Asia they had functions (like concerts, etc) to bring about awareness. I guess they're satisfied now. Big Grin

I don't get it why the statue's it... beside religious belief. I mean, the statue of liberty is 3 times bigger and was built almost 50 years before. I mean, we have a cross as big as on top top of a mountain, and I don't consider it a world wonders. There are tons of buildings, built in Europe 500~600 years ago, that are work of art. Confused

Sounds more like a popularity contest than real wonders... I mean, myspace and starbucks could have been on the list. =T Be glad that most people in North-America didn't care about it. hehe

Hey〜 Looks like I’m in Japan too.Bleah You just need to change ime to fullwidth alphanumeric. It prevents it from changing everything you type in kana/kanji.IIRC, It’s just instead of ”regular” characters you see in ainsi or unicode, they are in hardcoded in Japanese shift−jis. They are so different, then even most grammar and spelling tools don’t work.

Have fun in Japan qilver. Thumbsup
