hi
I just bought bright girl's success dvd (i don't consider them bootleg since they are the official release in malaysia, they are imports though) anyway I bought this coz I someone in japan tv forum said the english subtitles were great

can anyone give me other korean drama DVD imports that have good subtitles, I might buy them like the one i did with bright girl's success.

Bright Girl was the best from what I hear. It drifted into Engrish a bit, but the rest of the Malaysian or other boxsets would drive you INSANE. So far there is Autumn Story, Winter Sonata, Fireworks, My Love Patzzi, Hotelier, All About Eve. Compared to the original subtitled versions that aired in Hawaii, I heard Autumn Story, Winter Sonata, Fireworks, Hotelier, and All About Eve in particular were ATROCIOUS. Many times the Chinese names were shown instead of Korean and it was Engrish.

The only one I bought was Bright Girl and I didn't think it was poorly done. I usually read the reviews on koreanfilm.org after a DVD release comes out. Legit ones I hope to buy, but I shy away from Southeast Asia releases if there is another version. All of the above dramas except for Fireworks and My Love Patzzi, I already have them on tape with good subs. I wouldn't buy them on DVD unless they were really good (when I have the money of course).

Legit ones: Summer Scent, All In, Winter Sonata (might not find this anymore, it was limited release), and I think there's a better one of Hotelier out but I don't know if it's legit. Attic Cat comes out in a few days.

Did I miss any?

All About Eve has got to be the best Korean drama out there.

Has anyone seen Sunshine On Me with Kim So Yun and Ryu Shi Won? Is it any good? I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but if it doesn't get many recommendations I'll wait Rolling eyes

Did anyone mention Guardian Angel with Song Hae Gyo here? I thought it was only so-so.

LOL does smoking affect the plot that much for ya?? I didn't like it but that's because it was draggy and just "mreh" most of the way. Hotelier was really good, IMO. Loving You (with Eugene) was good too, surprisingly. I expected the worst from that one, but I enjoyed it. I assume Hotelier is the best of those you mentioned, but I never saw Love Letter.

I was watching a bit of Attic Cat, so I think I'll sit down and watch it from the beginning. I watched eps 5-8 by accident Sweat But the plot hooked me. What's also helpful is that Kim Rae Won is a hottie and a half!!!!!!!! Mr Green Naughty Lovey Eyes Muack YAY TO THAT!

well, abit lar......wonder how song hae gyo could stand that smell....but this is not the main reason. I heard ppl were complaining cos too many smoking scenes appeared in most of those korean series before.....
i started not to watch loving you cos i think it will be another romance drama with bitchy girl... but i'll watch it since you said that it was good......occasionally. Nut

finally finished All In after several weeks. Really good but the ending is a bit rushed, i was kinda hoping for more. Watched ep1 of Hotelier the other day but that didnt get me hooked. Hmm, gonna watch a couple more before deciding whether to continue or not.

Anyway, its off topic, but thanks to everyone sharing stuff on d-addicts.com. Applaud

Does anyone know the artists' name of the japanese-speaking girl that plays Michael Jang's girlfriend in All In? the one that is also a pro-gambler but lost in the prelims of the world poker series....
Thanks

So far the Korean Dramas I have enjoyed are:

Successful Story of Bright Girl
Romance
My Love Patzzi

I have also watched bits of 4 other Kdramas. My problem is that I prefer happy endings. I keep starting to watch series, and then I find out the heroine dies of cancer (or some such tragic thing). It is starting to get annoying. I don't want them to solve the love triangle by killing the heroine ^^;

I also have to remind myself not to search out additional information about dramas, because another time I was simply looking for a page that mentioned what other series the actors of the drama I was watching were in, and I stumbled across a page that had HUGE spoilers right on the front page. Like, "This page is about the drama <insert name>! I love this show! My favorite character is <character name> who was so great at acting when she died in the end" -_- Arg.

My favorite Kdrama actor so far is Kim Jae Won. He is just way tooooo cute Smile

What are some series that end HAPPY?

Beautiful Days does as well. If I remember correctly, Hotelier ended well too. All About Eve had an ok ending. One part of it I didn't like that much. I think Loving You (2002...with Eugene) ended good too, but you have to watch it until the VERY VERY END, like....after the credits. I don't remember Guardian Angel having a bad ending, but the drama wasn't all that great in the first place. Chatter

Hi,

I know there is another site for requesting seeds but it seems like that site is only for j-drama lovers. Anyway, is there anyone who could seed my love patzzi? Any series except 11 & 13. Or...did anyone know where I could get this series? There hasn't been any seed for this series in jem and I couldn't find it in d-addicts or jtv either. Thanxzzzz Big Grin
