Yeah I know what you mean MD, but I'm talking about ppl in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and up using the word 'awesome' on TV as if it is the only adjective in their vocabulary when they enjoy something. The word 'awesome' always brings to mind a 'surfer dude' image whenever I hear it. I think it has been in use since the 1960s.
lol! i'm with you on that one Enna. If it comes from, say, Keanu Reeves, it sounds normal... but from some people, it doesn't
Tho I suppose Keps and I could always make a club with just the two of us. "You need to smell, have "Avoid Me at all Costs" sign posted to our foreheads, o, and don't forget the long hair".
@Keps: The Click for Clique really gets me too! We hates it, preciousssssss. _________________

Wait am I missing something here? Aren't they both pronounced the same way? They both sound like the word 'chick', don't they? Or do you pronounce 'clique' like 'cleeque'? Or are you referring to when ppl misspell them?

The right pronunciation is "kleek", as clique comes from "cliquer" - a French word.
I don't think I've seen people misspell that word, though.

I'm bothered because this old guy who made me feel really uncomfortable is coming in the office next week. I'm thinking of calling in sick or leaving early because I get repulsed whenever I think of him and the incident. _________________

I would say, yes, do either one. And if management asks why, when you explain things to them, they'll probably get an innocent look on their face and say, "Really, we had no idea!"

Well, I already told my boss what happened last year, so he knows I'm uncomfortable. I'll probably go to work but just keep myself EXTREMELY busy so I don't have to deal with the guy.

Or in a pinch, a rolled up newspaper.
Or maybe I could borrow Spot so he can protect me? _________________
