Happy birthday to my first love in Jdorama! I was devastated then when news came out she suddenly got married. I think she's still stunning and still one of my favorites...Best of Luck to you Ryoko-chan!

Yup. I don't know what the story is about, but it should be in the late 80's early 90's. The sound track has New Kids on the Block and C & C Music Factory.
DVD Cover and Info here
Release Date Aug 17, 2007
Starring Hiroshi Abe, Ryoko Hirosue, Hiroko Yakushimaru, Kazue Fukiishi, Yuko Ito, Shigemitsu Ogi, Hiroko Moriguchi
The other good news is that D-Fansubs have announced they will do a fansub (hard&soft) of the special.
One other thing I was wondering about, I haven't seen a torrent (yet) for the Kiseki no Dobutsuen 2007 special, which aired in May this year.
The DramaWiki page only lists the 2006 version (without Ryoko) (link: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Kiseki_no_Dobutsuen)
The Japanese Wikipedia also lists the 2007 edition (with Ryoko) (link: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ղ̓`R`)
I have found a rmvb version with Chinese hardsubs of the 2007 special. Has anyone seen a regular avi version?

Is she doing anything western (Wasabi) again soon?
No, and I don't think she will any time soon. Chances of her being cast in a western movie are pretty low as it is. But I also think she doesn't have the desire. She doesn't actually speak English or French and learning all her lines phonetically like she did for Wasabi is not easy.
The good news is, Ryoko is still active. Although for us non-Japanese fans there is not much to enjoy. She will perform on stage in what seems like a big production coming December and January called "L" (Kiru or Kill). It has something to do with Genghis Khan and Mongolians or something like that. "the sweet hereafter JPOP idol is a natural beau in the art of alluring sexy innocence. Debuting to the world of show business through a Clearasil commercial, Hirosue had become a bona fide media sensation, although the discrepancy between her professed cutesy and her Little-Girl-Lost sensations will take her on another spin with her career."
this description of ryoko associated with her photo here...should read a "natural belle" not beau...beau is the masculine word for beautiful in French and is incorrect.

Cool.
Considering I even passed philosophy classes in French, I have no excuses for not seeing it. Quite basic stuff. Then again, my grammar skills always sucked. _________________

Well it's no indictment of you...there is very little attention on Ryoko these days given what she has gone through in the media after her pregnancy....
