Songs are either a major hit or a dud in the pop world and I don't really see that much of a difference between the major hits and some of the duds. I think sakuranbo by otsuka ai is a catchier song than most w/ cuter lyrics but its amazing how popular that song is and how unpopular other pop songs are such as juemilia's reset, kyoko fukada's swimming or even chieco kawabe's candy baby. These songs even had better music videos but ppl like kyoko fukada eventually had to give up her singing career. Even tho chieco kawabe's candy baby received recognition she is nowhere close to the following of Ai otsuka. Yeah its true ai otsuka sings better than them (but really not much better, her voice can come off as being whiny), but sakuranbo is more about the cute and catchiness which i feel the above songs have and anys when it comes to pop song its not really about how well the singer sings. I just want to note that I am not hating on sakuranbo or otsuka ai, i think its a catchy song. I am just wondering what are other songs that were duds that ppl feel like they deserved more recognition.
