oh god, it was soooo worth it (except for the times when I'm reminded of the hole in my bank account ). Just holding it in my hands had me floating to heaven, lol . As for me, I'm glad I didn't buy it even for Ryo. It's still so boring (for me), like watching News Nippon with a bigger stage and no fresh ideas. A friend of mine even dubbed it Never Ending Boring Story Sorry about that. Not meaning to offend anyone but that's just how we feel.
Probably we're so used to great stage performance and showmanship like those that rock bands produce (or K8 and SMAP) that I feel like it's too boring and structured.
I still fee like NEWS lack those; stage performance and showmanship. I think that's what bothers me the most. _________________

lol, you should probably substitute 'boring' with a synonym that starts with 'w', so that it still spells out NEWS
yeah, as performers, NEWS aren't the best. Even the crowd that attends the concerts aren't really the best crowd to make a great atmosphere. But, the fact that they finally have a proper concert dvd out is what makes me happy the most ^^. I don't know about K8 concerts, cause I confess, I've never watched a full K8 concert, I've only seen parts, but, I do know that a NEWS concert won't ever compare to an Arashi concert. Arashi concerts are just so amazing, in terms of both the fans and Arashi themselves. I'd probably choose an Arashi concert over a NEWS concert any day.... or not... _________________

i can imagine what a news con is like after watchin that sayaendou PV. and the first thing that crosses my mind is that I am NOT going to watch some fruityboys wearin THAT stuff! *shudders* (you can keep that KRAP-TUN too). i'll just go with mp3s (especially since Kusa ain't around). NEWS PVs also looks daymn cheap too. I've seen SMAP's, Koichi's, ENDLICHERIxENDLICHERI(Tsuyoshi)'s and Arashi's concerts, and TOKIO performances on tv, and what's so good about theirs is that they do not have those dancin' little bratty juniors that does dancing! (wait, does Arashi have them? i like Arashi's songs so what the the heck, i can always skip Matsu Jun's part anyway). _________________

Well I guess to NEWS' teen fans, I think the DVD is enough for them, no matter how incapable they are in being good performers, so far. But at this rate, I highly doubt that they can even handle a dome...
I'll pick Arashi's con any day too! Iza Now is still my favourite though, don't like AAA that much. But still, you should try watching a K8 concert from start to finish, I honestly think they're better entertainers than Arashi haha! But that's only me. Still, even the low-budget K8 Excite DVD with only 1,000 crowd is better than NEWS DVD with 15,000 crowd. That ought to say something... _________________

Hmm... I've watched Excite before. Heh, come to think of it, I have actually watched one full K8 concert . But, I still don't think K8 are better than Arashi, lol. That's just me being biased though, cause I like Arashi more than I like K8...
NEWS... well, I suppose that they have improved a bit since they started. Excuses are probably useless and won't change a thing, but to be fair, in defense of NEWS, unlike the other groups, NEWS haven't had a chance to "learn" how to entertain and perform as a group, not as individuals. Not because of the stupid suspension thing, but because they rarely have group activities together, and they do not have their own show. I mean, well, if they had a show now, it would probably be the most mundane ever, but, at the same time, it would gradually help them to improve, and become better, and possibly, the show would then be the most interesting ever, lol
It's hard not to be happy about a concert dvd, regardless of the performance, when it is the first proper dvd to come out. If NEWS had released dvd's of all their concerts before, then yes, fans would probably be more focused on how they have not yet grown as entertainers. But, as it is, the fans have not much to compare NEWS to, except to other groups, which isn't exactly a fair comparison since each group grows at a different rate, and, well, they haven't really got as good a relationship between the members as fans would like to think and group dynamics affect performance to a certain extent... which is a totally different topic, I guess ^^;;

Please ignore me if you are K8 fans.....I just feel like saying it out.......It just feel not good to see K8 fans keep comparing K8 and NewS here in NewS forum and conclude that K8 is better than NewS......it's pretty annoying (at least to me) that other artistes' fans keep pointing out bad things about NewS here and then praise their own idols........yea, NewS is the only debut group that never get to have concert in Dome, so what? really don't want to sound offense, but......I'd like to express my feeling..........

konnichiwa, minna. I got long time didnt post message here. i were very surprised when i saw members here comparing NEWS and K8. Actually, I think K8 and NEWS are totally different in terms of their styles, image, and style of songs. We cant compare it. I noticed that Ryochan plays different role when he is in K8 and NEWS. But i can sure that he had tried his best when perfom in both groups. I knew Ryochan when year 1999 and i knew that he always tried his best when performing. Although he is from Kansai area, but his is getting better with NEWS members now if compare before. So, i hope that all of us dont compare both groups. The most important is we can enjoy when we saw their performance. As Johnnys entertainers always emphasis that the purpose of their performance is to make people happy and enjoyable. If we really support them, we should not compare them. Try our best to support them. _________________

Eh... I think the things that me and WD have been saying here have been taken out of context. We weren't comparing NEWS and K8 in terms of style, image and songs. Neither of us said that K8 was better than NEWS. What we did say was that K8 are better performers than NEWS ^^;. The only comparison that me and WD have been doing here was on how they perform.
As a fan, I personally think that we have to take an objective view of things, and realise (and admit) that the people we fan over aren't perfect. I mean, I know that NEWS aren't that great as performers, but I still love them all the same, and I know that they are trying. Love means being able to accept the good and the bad, not turning a blind eye to the bad and pretending it doesn't exist.
We should be able to allow for discussions brought about by differences in opinion, or this would be a pretty boring thread... not that it's not already dying ^^;;. Nothing wrong with a K8 fan, or any fan, for that matter, coming in here to post his/her opinion. It's not like anyone is forcing you to accept that opinion. If you don't agree with that opinion, than have a discussion about it, debate or argue, if you must. At least, it will spice things up a bit here. _________________

I agree to this...Why can't K8 and NEWS fans be friends? I mean the fans are like America and Iraq or something...Maybe Tom and Jerry?...I dont know...For me...both are equal. NEWS has good looking boys (so does K8 but NEWS is more cuter~) and K8 is...funny.

There's this firework competition that's been going on, and I went to watch Team Japan's fireworks display last night. It was awesome! It was sooo incredibly awesome beyond words! They had these wonderful colours, shapes and formations, and the finale was.... *speechless* And that's my off-topic what-I-did post for the day
