don wrote: | This thread is so full of misinformation that it's almost funny. I think the OP must be a troll. If what he posted first were true, you would have read about it first in the news or elsewhere, not here in a drama forum of all places.
Could he be jealous that Japan exports mostly high tech, high value goods and has become the 2nd largest economy in the world without much natural resources while the Phillipines exports mostly low skilled service workers despite having a lot of natural resources.
The fact is Japan does not have a Judeo-Christian tradition nor the sexual repression that comes with that tradition.
As an American, I know how hung up about sex the U.S. is. It's unnatural. Just look at Bush. Clinton was smarter and knew what sex was all about but he was almost impeached for it!! Bush is dumb and has done much, much worse but he's still doing business as usual.
But that's the U.S., back to Japan. Japan is a sensual place. Before the war, mixed bathing was very common. It wasn't considered sexual. It was just bathing.
After the U.S. won, McArthur banned that practice, since his upbringing regarded it as sexual, and banned prostitution as well. But prostitution was never considered a high calling, it was just accepted as a fact of life.
(Sakuran was fake. Most prostitutes at Yoshiwara killed themselves at a young age. The woman provided to the first U.S. Ambassador to Japan also killed herself, after her "duty" was finished.)
FACT: Sex in public is not allowed in Japan, neither morally or legally. You will get your ass hauled off to jail, if you try it when you get here.
(and don't email me for help after that happens--Just get used to a diet of rice and miso soup for awhile.)
About a year ago, a cameraman and an "actress" were arrested in Yokohama because she was walking around town in the nude and he was filming her. A couple of passer bys saw this and quickly reported it to the police (but not before taking their own pictures with their cell phones.) FACT: Other perverts
have been arrested for trying to take pictures up women's skirts at train stations. FACT: Others have been arrested for breaking the child prostitution law
(you are considered a minor until the age of 20--however sex between minors over the age of 16 is not a crime) FACT: Some people, such as the OP, like to feed the "Japan is Weird" perception for some perverse reason or other. FACT: All countries are weird, don't get me started.
One more fact: Japan has a strict anti-stalking law so watch out if you try to follow your favorite celebrity while in town. |
Don,
First, keep this civil, otherwise the thread will be locked, or i'll just delete all the posts. You're borderline (politely) flaming, and OP has a valid point, as many of us have seen the AVs in question.
FACT: Staged or not, the AVs exist. I'm not afraid to admit that i've seen a few.
Wierdness is in the perspective of the person, you seem to live in Japan, and are used to the culture. Most are not, and find some aspects strange, wierd, if you will. You yourself mentioned that other countries are wierd, have you stopped posting for a minute to consider a person in that country is thinking the exact same as you? Probably not... at least while you were typing.
So step back, take a breath. Consider OP not as a troll, but maybe someone who wants clarification.
This warning is for everyone participating in the thread.

first of all, Filipinos are not low-skilled!
it's like saying the White House head chef is low skilled? whoa... think again buddy... Nicole of PCD low-skilled? absolutely not... Batista, Billy Crowford, Apl de Ap being low-skilled? better think twice, thrice, or more than that buddy...
Filipinos are the most hardworking people in the world, and without you noticing, Filipinos are everywhere around the globe!
sorry for being off-topic but i was hurt when i saw this reply...
KUDOS TO ALL PINOYS OUT THERE... |
nippon addict, I'm sincerely sorry for offending you but the OP was the one who was comparing his country to Japan. My remarks were based on an article I read in the U.S. News and World Report some time ago.
I've met some Filipino-Americans in the States. They were warm, kind, wonderful people and very hard working. One was a helicopter mechanic and another was a nurse, so they were quite skilled. Again, apologies.
That said, I think religion has almost everything to do with this issue. It's where people get their value systems. But one country's value system shouldn't be forced on another.
Also, when someone goes to the trouble of (1) creating a poll, (2) using a provocative thread title such as: Do Filipinos...(some controversial subject)?, and (3) show some outlandish excerpts from an underground movie and claim that it's real, then you have a troll. Excuse me for pointing that out.

I thought I was being civil. But the thread needed to have some common sense added. I don't resent in any way anyone watching the AVs. In fact, I hope they made you happy. But if you believe its real, well...
I do live in Tokyo but I'm not Japanese so I don't consider this a personal thing. However, it gets tiring to see such ludicrous things written about Japan such as this thread and a recent news article, "Japanese mistakes sheep for poodles." I know these kinds of threads pop up from time to time because some people don't have better use of their time. I had a few minutes to spare so I added what I thought needed to be said.
Well, I've already spent too much time on this. You needn't respond, I won't be revisiting this issue.

Thank you. That's the one.
It was kind of disturbing. Especially since one of them was watching them in the dark and a hand in his pants.

According to 2 different search engine, it's either a few movies from a studio called Natural High or an isotope of ammonia. 10 bucks on amonia.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are tons of news like that everyday. Reuters have odd news that are published around the world. Almost none of them from Japan. We post most of the Japanese ones, because everybody around likes it. To go back to porn, some places should be a little bit more open. IIRC, last year, there was a news about a couple who were married for 5 or 6 years, if not more. They went to see the doctor to find out what was wrong with them, because the wife couldn't get pregnant. It turns out, they didn't know how to make babies. _________________
