Okay, having thrown Jotei into the bin -- I couldn't bring myself to watch any more after the first episode. -- I decided to give Liar Game a try.
Right then. So it's not as bad as "Jotei". Really, nothing could be. But "Liar Game" sure gives it a shot.
Liar Game is 80% filler. Lots of pointless building of tension, lots of slow motion, to fill time, lots of cutting back to scenes you've already seen, to fill time, lots of digital video flash and bang, to fill time, lots and lots of bad acting, and horrible over acting... to fill time.
Are you one of those people who was amused by books of math and logic puzzles in the 4th grade? Well then you might like this show, because that's all it is. -- Of course, if you liked those puzzles, this show is gonna be pretty boring for you, because you already know all the answers.
"Liar Game" does have one thing to recommend it. The final, three hour episode fills in that long block of time by simply rerunning the first ten episodes. But they connect them by showing Michiko Kichise, the official from the Liar's Game Management. And she is stunning.
That's about it though. So if getting to look at Michiko for a bit makes it worth your while to watch 11 episodes of this... then go for it. _________________

Partially agree; only because in defense the manga on which it's based is far superior in every way.
The problem is there's just not enough material in the ongoing manga to fill an 11 episode drama. So what the writers/director did was to dumb down the plot and added a lot of unnecessary scenes, some of which just don't make any sense from the logic/math point of view. Some of the plot holes and logic gaffes introduced are so laughable that a decent junior high level math student (I wouldn't say 4th grade) can spot them miles away. Also, the 3rd round in the manga is much more complex, and is just starting to come to an end (as of 2 wks ago).
BTW, if you like Kichise Michiko, she'll appear in upcoming season's 'Hataraki Man'. She also has a blog:

man, you're on a roll huh, Geez? one dud after the another.
Yeah.. true.
What I enjoyed from this drama aside from Ai is how Eita could actually look really kakkoi And I appreciate Matsumoto Rio a little bit now.
Matsumoto did a great job, tho Yoko was still my favourite! I love who she goes on tantrums when she's explaining stuff.

LOL, and Hiraoka Yuta and his sucky acting! Was Tokyo Friends before or after NANA?
I think it was before... but I'm not sure.
On Topic: Finished the first episode of Ima. The kid is ADORABLE! The drama looks very promising. _________________

Had to happen. I was going along there pretty good with Coach --Watashitachi no Kyokasho -- My Boss My Hero -- Koi Ni Ochitara
before hitting the Jotei / Liar Game pot holes.
I'm just flipping a coin now about whether or not to start Bambino.
My general expectations for the show are pretty low, but Yuki Uchida is in it, and I usually ignore the story and the rest of the cast when she's in a show anyway. Should be a safe bet. _________________

Uchida Yuki was good. In fact nearly all of the cast, except for 'Bambino' himself, were good. Just ignore the piece of rotten fruit and concentrate on the delicious food and actresses.
not continuing. not in the mood for a midnight slot (didn't know it was one when i rented it). from Geezer's review on Jotei, Jyouou seems like a Jotei with boobs.
starting from monday i'm gonna have a 2 week holiday. which means, it's dorama time!! DVD rental here i come....!!! _________________

LOL.
Sounds like that drama needs some editing to remove the rotten fruit.

I haven't watched Jotei, probably not going to, but you're right about Jyouou - there certainly was an abundance of boobs.

LOL. I ended up Liar Game a lot. Mainly because it wasn't some stupid high school drama featuring any of those Johnny's boys. And I'm really into that kind of thing, logic puzzles. _________________
