Love Generation or Long Vacation, much prefer Love Generation. Takako and Takuya is simply a perfect couple on screen. Long Vacation is such a bore, still find it hard to accept older woman younger man. If only Takako and Takuya end up together in Long Vacation, that would be interesting. No matter how you look at it, the two should be a good match in Long Vacation. Both were young, musican, unattached, and more importantly, have a liking for each other... at least until the story changed for whatever the writer was thinking. :shakehead
Have not seen Hero. Can someone tell me where to get the VCD in Singpore ? Thanks very much.

Which is better Love Generation and Long Vacation? That should be the question because those two are much closer together than Love Generation or Hero? Hero is so different from Love Generation. What's the answer to this question then?

the only best thing about long vacation is the song and the beautiful sound of piano....

I have watch both Hero and Love Generation and i like them both....its very difficult to compare which is best, as for me, both Takuya and Takako acted very well. And both are them are the best on screen couple. The only thing is Love Generation is a love story and Hero is slightly serious and no love scene between Takuya and Takako

i must say...l.l.letter is by far the most weird dorama ive ever seen!!
i am still very much confused with the story...n how weird are those creatures init??
nway kobozuka yosuke was indeedi very cho kakkoi!!
Hero was very good! I enjoyed it a lot, none of the eps were boring! Takuya and Matsu match each other 100%! There are some funny scenes too, Hero isn't just a "drama"! Takuya's obsession on tv shopping was hilarious! Great actin and not to mention other actors as well
The only thing I annoyed me a lot was the closeups! LOTSA closeups! Shomuni and Star no koi suffered from the closeups too! Negative side!
Music wasn't as good compared to Takuya's previous dramas (Long Vacation, Love Generation)
I liked Hero a lot! I think Hero was better than Love Generation!
Both of em are good! watch em then you'll know!
PS Hero was a bit like Investigator Mariko, solvin crimes and puttin the criminals behind the bars! "Detective Kuryu"
I definitely think these two dramas shouldn't be compared. Hero is definitely more of a Investigator Mariko-type drama.
I'm more of a romantic so I prefer Love Generation. But Kimutaku is pretty good in Hero too. I loved that pub/restaurant. That guy had EVERYTHING! "Aru, yo."

I think Hero is much better than Love Generation. Although I'm not a big fans of both Matsu & Kimura but the plot, the cast & bgm in Hero are the best one.

seen both of them..
hero has its own quality and advantages, but it can never surpasses the perfect love chemistry in love generation....
to the heck if a love generatio was a blatant-rip-off from tokyo love story...this time, matsu and takuya is really a flawless couple!
watched both of them too... agree with kipas that LG was a rip-off from tokyo love story... there was simply too much similarities between the storyline of these 2 dramas 'cept for the ending....
love both of them... kinda hard to choose between the 2 cos' the nature of the shows are so different...
but then again, since i'm that sort with my head in the clouds most of the time, i would actually prefer LG, love story and a happy ending... moreover, i prefer story with continuation rather than one with a different storyline every episode...

I've watched all 3 and man...don't make me choose! I love all three!
'Hero' have an interesting storyline and kimutaku's acting is just kawaii! I like the love-story plot for LG and Long Vacation is excellent too!
I love LV coz of the the crossed between Love & Dreams!
I don't mind the age thingy though. After watching LV, simply love Tomoko. She's a superb actress!!

There are a lot of must sees Japanese dramas out there. But good ones are Long Vacation, Beautiful Life, 101 Proposals, Koori No Sekai, Itsumo Futari De, Bijo Ka Yajuu, Bus Stop, Yamato Nadeshiko, Antique, Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake, Love Revolution, Majo No Jouken, Not so Perfect Love, Otousan, Omiai Kekkon, Summer Snow, Wedding Planner, all three Shomuni, and Koi wo nannen yasunde imasuka. Here are a good number to start with. But there are many more out there. I hope this helps.
p/s : i believe all japanese drama series is different, and all of it got their own story...u'll find the differences in it....
-GTO
-Gokusen (yuki nakama)
-tackey's series (All of it was a different from others-i didn't know the title, but i can suggest you watch all of it)
-tsuyoshi's series (this one pretty cool, he's cool you know. he really into the character he played, that's make me falls for him)
what else should i suggest?
-shota no sushi
-over time
-lipstick....
and more.....
just watch them, you'll enjoy them...
one underrated series is Salaryman Kintaro. It's so completely over the top that it's beyond Parody. I'm amazed that Takahashi Katsunori was able to deliver his lines without cracking up.
Also among my favs is "shota no sushi".
if you like rime drama's check out the first few seasons of Kasouken no Onna.
