at least Masakazu's character is a bit more realistic....I mean he doesn't literally hover over his kid and ban them from having a fone. oyaji is a way better show in my opinion. moreover the supporting cast is infinitely better at acting....as much as i like satomi ishihara she is no where near as good at acting as ryoko hirosue or miki mizuno. moreover as far as supporting male actors....junichi okada is way better than the guy from Hanayome....Taguchi Junnosuke (as Seiji)....he can't act at all.
Junichi Okada (the son) is one of the few Johnny's fools that can act, especially in comic roles..like Tiger and Dragon, Kisarazu Cat's Eye, etc.
He's so adorable in this drama. But I'm really getting into Mizuno Miki. This is my first exposure to her and she's so grand! I wish she had more spotlight. _________________

Haven't you seen Beautiful Life? She plays Kyoko's best friend at the library.

You have seen her before, she was the assistant librarian in Beautiful Life and yes I agree, she's great.
Edit: Admittidley, between Kimura, Takako Tokiwa and Atsuro Watabe, she's easy to overlook. Whenever I think of Miki Mizuno, the first thing that comes to mind is Ododru Daisousasen and her role as Yukino Kashiwagi. Funny how you identify somebody with one performance so much.

Finished Rikon Bengoshi I & II. A nice drama in general but fell prey to the 'curse of the new season' - the quality of number II depreciated noticeably.
In the original series Mamiya Takako (Amami Yuki) was mostly serious. The points of humour were quite subtly placed. The set of characters were simple but effective. In the new season a couple of characters disappeared without any reference, and a new character (Toda Keiko) was introduced whom I'd gladly strangle (the character, not Toda who was absolutely wonderful). Not all episodes were about rikon (divorce) but then there is only so much you can say about a relationship going sour. It's the change in the heroine's character that annoyed me most though.
The acting in general was good although Tamayama Tetsuji was a bit annoying (both the character and Tamayama). Still worth watching, especially the first season.

I hadn't realized it before but Thursday's Dinner, which I'm watching has a really young Yui Natsukawa in it. The female lead from Kekkon Dekinai Otoko.

Yea, I think that's why I overlooked her. The roles they choose/get really IS important. It's what makes the impression for me.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I'm hearing great things about it. _________________
