The teaser and the trailer of the new drama " team batista " are available here: http://www.team-b.jp/

According to the Tokyograh Abe Hiroshi and Yuko Takeuchi ( the duo in "egao no hosoku " for those who have seen it ) will play in a new movie based on a medical mystery novel "Team Batista no Eikou" written by Takeru Kaido .
This novel allowed the author to win the "Kono Mystery ga Sugoi! Awards" in 2005, after that, this popular novel induced a fight over adaptation rights by 25 studios and television networks.
Toho and TBS won the rights and they will release a film on February 9 of next year.

"The story revolves around a university hospital and a team of doctors specializing in the Batista procedure, an alternative to heart transplantation. The team has a 100% success rate until they perform three consecutive operations that result in the patient's death. An internal investigation begins to determine the reasons for the failures.

The protagonist of the novel is a male doctor in his forties, but TBS suggested replacing the character with a young female. As a result, Yuko Takeuchi now plays the lead as Taguchi, a doctor in charge of the investigation. She initially declares the incidents as accidental deaths, but an eccentric employee from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (played by Hiroshi Abe) suddenly appears and asserts that the deaths were actually murders. Together, the two continue to probe the matter.

Yoshihiro Nakamura is directing. Filming begins on the 7th." The tokyograph

Akira Kurosawa's 1958 film "The Hidden Fortress" ("Kakushi Toride no San Akunin") is getting a remake, directed by special effects specialist Shinji Higuchi. This version will star Arashi member Jun Matsumoto in his first jidaigeki role, with a supporting cast that includes popular actress Masami Nagasawa.

The original film starred Toshiro Mifune as the defeated general Rokurota trying to secretly escort a princess and her wealth to safety. Along the way, he is joined in the journey by two peasants. In Higuchi's version, the story's protagonist is the peasant Takezo (played by Matsumoto), rather than the general.

Masami Nagasawa plays the role of the princess, while Hiroshi Abe plays Rokurota. According to Sports Hochi, comedian Daisuke Miyagawa is also part of the cast, and Kazuki Nakashima is handling the adaptation of the script.

The movie reportedly has a budget of 1.5 billion yen. Filming starts next month and lasts until the end of the year, with theatrical release set for May 10, 2008. The tokyograph

If you're ever seen The Hidden Fortress, you'll see similar characters: a princess, a rogue-ish hero, and two scruffy, bickering little men... Sound familiar? Smile

I would think that Hiroshi-san will play the character that Mifune Toshiro played in the original.... And Nagasawa MAsami will play the young princess. Smile

OMG it was HILARIOUS! I've been a long-time fan of Hiroshi's (he was brilliant in Trick, Kekkon, and who can forget Antique?!) but he really had me gagging with laughter in Survive Style 5+. His dance routine was grand.
