I plan to take all my pre-med requirements during the 4 years for a bachelor's degree. It's not like you waste your time getting a BA, you take almost like the prerequisites usually for your BA if you want to do med afterwards :] After that, I'll apply to a lot of med schools and spend another 4 years in Med School..hopefully alive. that equals something like 4 years of basics + 4 years of med = 8 years of college Naughty

dun worri, being in med sch anywhere in the world is not really = to being in college. u hardly will see the college. wat are the pre med requirements? can u list some?
cos i noe how the british system works which is basically wat the singaporean system is based on but the american system are basically frm anecdotes n watching ER n Scrubs Mr Green

I hope that in 5 years I'm at least in graduate school. If not, finished. Sweat I picked the wrong major. I'll probably be a secretary at best once I get my BA. Cry

Lolz, it's not quite that innaccurate ^.~ I've worked in the hospital as an assistant in the post anastesia care unit and ER and it's nothing like TV ER.. i was talking to the nurses and doctors there and they said ER is pretty off (all drama) but it's fun to watch Big Grin The British system i heard was very good, that's what my dad and yeh yeh used in HK I believe. Here are the requirements for one med school i found.

http://dept.kent.edu/stuorg/phide/courses.html

Additional Recommended Courses [other]

· Chemistry: Chemistry 365 [Biochemistry] (if you add Chemistry 248 you'll have a Chemistry minor)

· Biology: Biology 210 [Genetics], Biology 314 [Cell Biology], Biology 333 [Microbiology], Biology 317 [Developmental Biology], Biology 498/? [Immunology], Biology 382 [Endocrinology]

err we cover roughly the same topics but in the 1st yr, physiology, anatomy and biochemistry. the chemistry we alreadi learnt in our junior college. to be honest, i dun see the pt of spending 4 yrs on my life on this. if i was in USA, i wld never take medicine

taking a BA is fun n i guess helps u develop more interests n stuff. but we have national service here tat takes up 3 yrs n well we simply cant waste more time on all this. N to me actually it doesnt contribtue zilch in ur medical life.
