True, but they coulda come up with something else less awkward...
Like translators? They do use them in the real world... |
That's for celebrity. In concept, they were speaking French.

They don't just use translators for celebs... They're used in government and business as well.

LOL i haven't seen it but him being dubbed would be funny. |
It didn't seem that funny in the SP... It was more awkward.

Agreed... They could've/should've handled that scenario better, IMO.

I think so too, it seemed really weird to me. But I wonder what they could've done differently.
Anyways, my brother just watched the special. Another converted Juri fan. LOL. _________________

Use Japanese actors as Frenchmen, ala Stresemann.

LOL. He said that for some reason, she seemed cuter in the special. I dunno, maybe it's the way she acted? In the original drama, he thought she was just funny. Yea, I don't know how my brother's mind works. _________________

He needs to re-watch the original.

This is made primarily for Japanese audiences, and they're used to watching foreign language films dubbed in Japanese. The Mongoose did made an announcement about 17:20 into part 1, first apologizing for having the viewers read subtitles, then saying from then on they'll make things easier by switching to Japanese dialog.

So desu... That explains that funky curtain break...
I hope the eventual box set will allow users to choose subs or dubs.

According to D-Addicts, both SARS and Siantut are working on the subs...
No official word from them and no ETA.

SP1 is out! haha!!! still waiting for my SP2! watching SP1 reminds mi so much of the drama! i have the "go back home" feel! haha! but i agree with you all that it feels weird. the language is one, but it's still ok. after thinking about it, i think the reason why i felt weird about the drama is because nodame's role. it's like... having to get use to her character again. haha! her weird ways. but still... a drama that i will miss so much!

Yow, you sure are happy.... haha!!
