The final release of the SP Lesson 1 subs are available at S-Projects.
(Just don't comment on using a spell checker on the subs or you'll get your head bitten off... )
No ETA on Lesson 2 betas.
In defense of siantut, she was traumatized by some really ridiculous scathing attacks on her NC subs of the original series. A lot of people leapt to her defense, and the discussion got so heated that the moderator had to lock the forum and delete the offending posts. She subsequently quit posting on D-Addicts and is just gingerly tip-toeing back in.
BTW, based on her comments on S-projects, she's working hard to get the Lesson 2 betas out by this weekend. No guarantee of course but she's one of the most dependable and hard-working subbers around.

I guess my timing was bad when I commented that I run her subs through a spell checker before use...

Sorry for not posting this info earlier; based on your previous comments here I'd an inkling that you may incur the wrath of Joeboygo if you post the same comments on D-Addicts (he's actually a very reasonable and fun guy)...

I'll tell you this: fansubbers are a sensitive bunch: I made a comment on the D-Addicts site about having to spell check the subtitles and they got their noses all bent out of shape...
So much for constructive criticism.
Fansubbing is a tough business and you need thick skin in order to survive.
Fansubbers can see criticism as a slap in the face or as a chance to improve.
On something more Nodame-related, I only got to "watch" Lesson 2. When I say "watch" that means listening while timing the episode. _________________

Actually, joeyboygo defended me... Though my case about constructive criticism wasn't too well-received.

Finished watching the SP last night. It's a bit like narcotics - satisfied the craving for a while but will leave you wanting for a lot more.
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
It's nice to see the gang - I especially like that little melancholic part on Mine and Kyora's fading relationship. The main story line is exactly the same as that of the manga, down to Project Desert Prometheus. Both Chiaki and Kuroki lost some weight, and Kuroki seemed to have adopted a Chiaki-ish hair cut.
Juri-sama was incredible, as usual. Her hentai moments are still hilarious but the sad, little-girl-lost, portraits really stole the scene. The lovers' quip (more like hand-to-hand combat) on the bridge was really funny.
The much anticipated kiss was there - I'm SO happy for Nodame...

i agree with this.

kuroki's hair really looks good on him. chiaki's weight loss is so evident but he looks really good when he smiles. i can't understand the mine/kiyora part on the 2nd video. will be waiting for the subs for that.
i'm also happy with the kiss scene but i wish they included the other kiss scene instead of just a hug. what made me laugh a lot was nodame flipping her hair (like rui) before she plays the piano. that was hilarious!

The latest word from siantut posted at d-addicts...
"Actually, at the moment, I am not sure if I will continue subbing anything or not.
I might stop and leave the subbing world altogether. And sadly too.
I stopped subbing the 2nd part of Nodame SP at 45%.
Before you ask why, let me say that I cannot tell you here now, but if you are curious, you can read it in the shoutbox of my homepage. Gomen. It is just that for me, subbing is an enjoyment and pleasure. However, if it turns to become a competition and thus pressure/ a source of stress for me, I found myself unable to enjoy it anymore
I don't want to get ulcers either." _________________
