Finished ep 7 of Juken no Kamisama...
man, the quick and dirty Chinese to English subs for this are dirty indeed...but not so bad that you can't figure out what's going on...
OT...on Geezer's recommendation...halfway through the Korean drama Evasive Inquiry Agency...it's just a complete romp, so funny...but there's a lot of depth here...
I've watched about a dozen Korean dramas...this one is the best of the bunch... _________________

Alrighty, finished watching the first episode of Odoru Daisousassen. I'm indifferent to it right now. The episode was just spend setting up the characters, setting, theme, etc. Like most good dramas.

Episode 2 of Odoru. RYOKO?!?!?!

TOTALLY! I had to do a double take. I hope Miki-san gets some lines soon.
On Topic: On episode 3 now of Odoru.
I like the way this is progressing, methinks there's gonna be some interesting feedback when it gets into the second half of the series!
Ah, tis a wonderful day when you can bring the light of a fantastic late 90s drama to several avid fans. I actually watched the movies again today while reformatting just to pass the time, great stuff indeed!
Now, onwards to Honey & Clover Episode 2 before bed time.

I'm starting to get into it NOW! Episode 5 was totally creepy and very successful! I like how episode 6 turned out.
I'm now onto epi 7. But I'll have to wait for the morrow to watch it. Oyasuminasi! _________________

It's terrific, ain't it?
Korean, Japanese, American, British... count'em all. This one was one of the best rides I've ever had watching TV.
It gets the highest compliment I can think of, for a TV show or a movie; 16 hour (+) long episodes... and I didn't hit the fast forward button once. _________________
He's had quite a long and diverse career. From what I understand, he's done quite a bit of stage work in addition to his many TV and film roles.
Recently he was in the movie Shaberedomo Shaberedomo, playing a rakugo master--he gave a really entertaining performance in a pretty good film about the world of rakugo.
Also, for years he's been a co-host of the annual Sushi, Donburi, Ramen specials--highly recommended to watch if you like those types of Japanese food.

I've seen a couple of those...they are awesome. They are drool-inducing for sure.

It's certainly a strong inducement to go out and eat sushi, donburi, and ramen.
Speaking of food, when I stated Ito Shiro had a diverse career, I forgot to mention this--his face also appears on a pack of nori (I saw this yesterday while shopping at Marukai).
I also noticed his pack of nori cost a lot more than other similarly-sized packs--$2.59 compared to anywhere from $1.79 to $1.99. Maybe it's because--like Michael Jordan and Nike--Ito's endorsement and visage are costly enough to jack up the price way beyond the usual market value.
Sorry for the bird-walk.
Back on topic: finished watching for the fourth or fifth time Ohsama no Resutoran. Those who have seen this know how excellent this 1995 series is.
The exception would be the person who wrote he didn't like it because the whole series takes place in one room Not an entirely accurate remark (the scenes switch back and forth from various settings in a restaurant), but then if this is the reason why you don't like a series, well, I guess the writing, acting, and directing don't really matter.

Currently watching;
1 Pound No Fukuin
HachiKuro
Binbo Danshi
Bara no nai Hanaya
The only one I'm not really enjoying is the one I was looking forward to the most - HachiKuro. It has some of my fave actors in there but the drama really isn't doing anything for me.

Finished Egao no Hosoku. Nogiwa Yoko was great as always, Takanori Jinnai still has his bug-eyed expressions that (ahem) bugged me, Takeuchi Yuko was cheerful as ever, and Abe Hiroshi looked like he had constipation for pretty much the entire time. Then again, isn't that how he usually looks? The rest of the cast were just...there.
The story itself was average at best, but I liked it. The ending, however, left much to be desired.

Mostly because there was an attraction of some sort between the main characters and it didn't really get resolved. I guess that's how life is sometimes, but I wished that it didn't end up so abruptly. Then again, I usually like happier endings unless there is some screwed up tragedy.
While I liked this drama, it wasn't my favorites, it rates a 7/10.
Though I'm in the middle of watching Sore wa Totsuzen Arashi no You ni & the first Odoru Nantoka movie, I'm going to start watching another series in the meantime. Nani ga ii kashira? _________________

I thought that series was pretty fun, not the best, but fun. Abe Hiroshi as "constipation man"? LOL . My nickname for him in Musashi was "the one armed gimp", and "that guy that got jacked hard" in Yoshitsune. _________________

Nani sore? Oishisou. But seriously, I'm probably going to ask in the rec thread. I'm so overwhelmed with all the dramas I have that I can't make a decision.

I wish I had watched (and recorded) that when it aired on KIKU last year. Dumb me.

Doesn't he look like he's got mean constipation a lot of the time--stern face that looks like he's concentrating so hard. I've never seen him in those roles you mentioned, but your descriptions sound interesting. _________________
