For those who are not familiar with daily sales and stuff I have to say it's VERY RARE to see a single with more than 100k index numbers. I believe the highest until now was KAT-TUN's Keep the Faith with 88k. _________________

surprisingly they are doing well with the single.. i don't like that single that much.. but i'm happy fo them
188,456? is my eyes getting blur now or is the number typing wrong? the single is not as rock as Love So Sweet or Happiness but they really done well with it. For me, this is not the great single from Arashi yet. Happiness deserved much more than this. Maybe because of the power of Johnny's inside them makes the rating grow higher start from the first day sales.

Oh btw, Fye-san. Please stop the Step & Go hate and saying the record breaking sales was due to Johnny's power.
They did it without any tie-ins (drama theme songs, cm songs) like the previous singles.
Arashi deserves the accolades, not doubts.
Its a good single. The song is great despite all the ramblings of how ordinary it was in here. The fans love it (including me). That's the reason for the high sales debut. Not forgetting, Arashi is NOW, damn popular.

Open discussion, I like Arashi and their song. But this is just my opinion and if the others don't like about it, then I'll stop saying here. I say this because I think Arashi is a good and very talented group, means they deserved to get more than this. I'm not saying this single is not very good, I just say this single is not very great as Happiness or Love so Sweet..thats it. Step and Go is also a good gift from Arashi ne~
And arashiawase dear, I'm speaking from the side of my heart who love Arashi I'm also realize the popularity of Arashi, don't worry.

Yeah i totally agree... they did it all by themselves !!... it was hard to promote a single withou a purpose... meaning that doesn't appear in a dorama or cm or movie or anything else...
i also love the song i think is great... and most of the fans love it too!!... so please stop saying things like that.

Step and Go has a very high first day sales, even beating KAT-TUN's! I think the DVD that comes with the CD really contributes a lot... _________________

I still think the inclusion of the DVD with LE is a major contributing factor to Step and Go sales. People like watching them, which is why Arashi in DOME DVD sales is pretty good, much better than NEWS in fact.

As long as nobody bash Arashi here, it's ok for moi.
I might agree that Step & Go is not really ear catching but it's infectious. The melody so simple but yet kind of make you remember the tune of it. haha. What am i talking? Hope u guys get what i'm saying. Yup, Step & Go not as great as Love So Sweet or even We Can Make It. Stiil, it's infectious enough for me. hehe
Ahh, so proud of them ne? Like seeing your own son getting first place.

@Fye_D.Flowright: its totally fine to express your opinion on the song as i do understand taste are subjective. However, claiming that the sales was due to "the Johnny's power" (or JE talents phenomena atm)... well.. don't want to be harsh but honestly... it was kinda insulting to Arashi obvious achievement on Step & Go. Sorry dear and I do understand you like them too
There was just not much love on S&G in this thread. I guess those who love it tend to be quite about their love as opposed that those who are loud about their dislikes :/. But that doesn't matter, people still love Arashi no matter what ne~
The single beaten Hikki's & Ken's by a BIG margin. Step & Go also surpasses Johnny's cash cow 1st day sales (KATTUN). The sales figure for the 1st DAY beats Happiness first WEEK sale.(i love Happiness btw)

yeap. i wouldn't have bought the single without the DVD.
We'll just have to wait how it performs after all the LIMITED edition is sold out. (i think it sold out already.. not sure)
but if you guys want to dispute the figures summore...
#1. the fans are so afraid of Hikki & Ken vs Arashi that they bought 3 copies instead of just 1
#2. although almost identical, the regular edition cover is more smexy.. and Nino butter baby blanket won't be that obvious, so the fans just HAVE TO have both editions
#3. Fuyu Dakishimete is hotter than S&G thus HAVE TO HAVE both version
#4. Ogu-san have been spreading the word that S&G success will help Sho Sakurai become Prime Minister of Japan in the near future
#5. There's a new rule for all okamas in Japan. MUST LOVE ARASHI. All of them bought 2 copies
