LOL.
I'd better make a note to run down to Joe's Crab Shack and Home Depot tonight...
Over the 13 week run Yoko will play 12 different characters.
Sounds sort of like the old (really old) Loretta Young show.
Ms. Young's was a weekly anthology show. A different story every week, some drama, some comedy, each a self contained story. With Ms. Young playing the lead character in each of the stories.
If they get the scripts, this sounds like a heck of a way to show off Maki-san's talent. (And man oh man do I think she's talented.) _________________

WAAAH Hontoni SUGOI!!!!
something I actually read the manga of and liked. Hehe I love to see it in live action. Would certainly be interesting. But wasn't the main char in Absolute Boyfriend in highschool?
demo...even if it does air soon I still wont be able to watch it until some one translates it
I guess I can wait to see it... I'll go and pretend I didn't see this and be completely surprised when I find it randomly, someday in the future when I can download all the episodes and watch them in one go. _________________

hir's the news from Tokyograph
Aya Ueto to star as lawyer in "Hokaben"
Sun, February 10, 2008 (8:02pm EST)
This spring, NTV is adapting the manga series "Hokaben" as a live-action drama), starring Aya Ueto. Originally written by novelist/lawyer Hiroyuki Nakajima, the story deals with the growth of a novice lawyer.
The comic ran in Evening KC between 2003 and 2006, and is scheduled to resume in April. The protagonist is originally male, but producer Yoshio Yamamoto felt that a female character would get a better response from viewers.
Ueto plays Akari Domoto, an idealistic lawyer who wants to "rescue the weak." She joins a large law office, though she is assigned to a lowly department whose only other member is her boss, who was transferred there after making a mistake during a case.
While Ueto is known for her light-hearted characters in previous dramas, this series places her in a serious role.
"Hokaben" will air on Wednesday nights at 10:00pm, starting in April. _________________
Pop star Madonna is now connected to one of Japan's biggest celebrities. It was announced on Sunday that she is providing the theme song for the upcoming Takuya Kimura drama series that will air on Fuji TV. This is reportedly the first time one of her songs will be used as the theme for a television series.
Production staff for the drama, titled "CHANGE," wanted a major international artist to do the theme song. Thinking they had nothing to lose, they made an offer last December to Madonna, who happened to be working on her new album, "Hard Candy." After hearing about the drama's story and seeing the staff's enthusiasm, she accepted the offer and created the ballad "Miles Away."
"CHANGE" stars Kimura as an elementary school teacher who gets thrown into the political arena and winds up becoming the Prime Minister of Japan. Eri Fukatsu co-stars as his secretary. Other cast members include Hiroshi Abe as Kimura's election planner, Rosa Kato as a campaign assistant, and Akira Terao as the ruling party's general council chairman.
The drama will air on Mondays at 9:00pm, starting next month.

"Madonna debuted the song Miles Away off her upcoming album on Japanese television this past weekend.
The singer lent the song to a TV chef for the theme song to his new show, and she even recorded a personalized greeting for him.
We really like the song, butc.
Pharrell told us this past weekend that one of his tunes with her Madgesty, Give It To Me, is a banger and that song is expected to be the second single.
Get it out quick. 4 Minutes stinks!
Enjoy the much better Miles Away (above)."
