Tamayama Tetsuji joins Bara no nai Hanaya Casts
First bad role, a cold-hearted surgeon
Sanspo, February 28th, 2008
translated by Yanie
Tamayama Tetsuji joins into the Bara no nai Hanaya set, and got his first bad role challenge. He play the role as a surgeon who had Eiji (Katori Shingo)'s life turned upside down. Tamayama, who is a die-hard fan of Nojima Shinji's works, comment on his role, "He is as dangerous as a lethal weapon,". He will appear starting from Episode 8, that will broadcast on March 3rd.
The role Tamayama is playing, has appeared briefly in the broadcasted next week's preview on February 25th. This character is actually the drama's last half's important figure that holds the key to everything!
Eiji is a kind-hearted man who runs a flower shop, and live together with his 8 years old daughter. Tamayama will play the role as Koyama Shun, the cold-hearted man who knows everything about Eiji's past riddles. He is a very well-known surgeon, but has a dark character. We can say, that Koyama is Eiji's ultimate enemy.
Tamayama comment about his role, "He has many toxicated dialogues, full of thorns. But he is actually one that doesn't know love, inside. He's been trying too hard to protect himself. It's like he has become a lethal weapon due to a pure reason. Not that he's actually a bad person,".
Tamayama is a big fan of Nojima Shinji's works. During his 3rd year in junior high, he was addicted to a TBS drama, Miseinen (a drama written by Nojima Shinji, starred by Katori Shingo too). He forgot to study, so he failed entering his first choice of highschool. But he was glad, "If not because of Nojima Shinji's story, I might have got into the first choice school, and I won't become an actor like now,". Tamayama thinks that Nojima's works' charm is "the strange and scary human's real quality".
The drama producer comments that Tamayama looks cool at one glance, but has a naive side too, so he is perfect for the bad -yet has deep characteristics- role in a Nojima Shinji's story.
About Katori Shingo who starred Miseinen and also starring this drama now, together, Tamayama said, "I never even thought of it, this is a miracle,". He had meet Katori in a variety show, and that time, Katori was suddenly inspired by him and draw a picture of Tamayama's cartoon face, and Katori gave the drawing to him as a present. He said he still treasure that drawing till now. Can we expect a good chemistry and acting between the two?

LOVED Ep8 ENDING!!
But... seem like Takeuchi Yuko's character gets less and less focus x) Somehow... I just feel that way... maybe coz Shizuku plays more role now, and the focus had also turn to that new character.
I can't believe it'll end in just another 3 episodes... from the last developments, seem like to me, that there could be more 10 episodes!! There suppose to be so many stories and scenes that can be developed from there... iyadaaa... I hope there's a sequel or... a special or... a movie x)
Wouldn't it be funny, while everyone's busy guessing whether the ending will be a sad one or happy... turn out Nojima Shinji give us a cliffhanger ending?
Oh, there's a new skit in SMAPxSMAP: "Bara no ARU Hanaya"
Kusanagi Tsuyoshi as Eiji. Inagaki Goro as Shizuku-chan. And Katori Shingo as .....CHIRORU Hillarious! _________________ "Let's create a world without war together"

Wow, I just randomly searched for "Bara no aru hanaya" skit as I was very curious, and guess what--voila--I got the link in Youtube http://youtube.com/watch?v=zxTpmnn99_E
Well, as for the latest episode (I've just wtched until ep8), I have to agree that Takeuchi Yuko's acting seems to me to become shallow and shallower. Sometimes, her expressions are too exaggerated in some sense. She looks to be the kind of one-type artist who can only perform well being a specific role, and sadly the role of Mio doesn't match her except in earlier episodes, IMO. If I were to give feedback in casting, maybe replacing Takeuchi Yuko with some other artiste will in fact boost this drama's quality to a much different level. Nakaa Yukie maybe?
Other than Takeuchi Yuko, sometimes I feel that Matsuda Shota is also annoying. Umm, but I'm afraid that it's because of the nature of the role he's playing that he can't really avoid being into the current Naoya. Shaku Yumiko and of course Shizuku has been exceptionally outstanding so far, and yeah, did I mention Katori Shingo.? I didn't know that he can play that well. And if I were to compare him with Kimura Takuya, maybe I should say that he has surpassed Kimutaku, at least in my opinion.

Being a Shingo fan for 5 years, and the fact that I've watched most of his dramas and movies since debut to the recent ones, I can confirm that his acting as Shiomi Eiji is the BEST PERFORMANCE he had ever done. I didn't know that he can act that well too! xD lol! His next best performances, IMO, were "the dual personality" mild-mannered salaryman by day and the psycho killer by night in Yomigaeru Kinro (The Wolf). And his acting as a retarded boy in another Nojima Shinji written drama, Miseinen (Underage). Other than these, Shingo's acting performances were either he was just acting as himself, or unstable, or uncomfortable with the roles he was playing, esp. in romantic scenes, he was never good in that, so I'm very surprised that he can do all the romantic scenes with Takeuchi Yuko THAT well.
As for Takeuchi Yuko... perhaps it's the character x) I have to say, that Mio is getting annoying. I know that she felt as guilty, and that she's also a victim. But I dunno, the way she talks... recently, it's getting annoying xD I think, I THINK, Takeuchi Yuko doesn't like Mio character that much either. In an interview, she said, "I really feel bad to all the other characters, they were all fooled by Mio... well, me. I'm such a bad woman, aren't I? I really feel "gomen nasai" to all of them. And I've always wanted to tell Mio, 'Hurry and tell all the truth to Eiji already!!' ".
But, nevertheless, I'm still wishing for an Eiji-Mio HAPPY ENDING^^ Oh, wait... Eiji-Mio-Shizuku happy ending! muri kana... kikan gentei dakara... _________________ "Let's create a world without war together"

Talking about a "suteki" ending... a japanese fan at 2-channel claimed that she saw the filming of one of the scene for the LAST EPISODE, and this is what she said...

Eh, to be honest, I cannot imagine this ending as far as the story goes...
I feel that Yuko doesn't have the chemistry she has with Shingo compared to her usual co-stars... For example her chemistry with Kimura was virtually sizzling.
Anyway, let's wait and see.
