I agree with your interpretation - it was muted satisfaction at his success and realization about who he could be in supporting Ruka and the others. I think it plays into his discomfort with other types of intimacy.

Finally was able to watch the first episode (watching the next two after I finish this post), and...wow is this show heavy so far. The theme song is absolutely perfect on every level with the shows' premise so far, and...

The beating of Michiru by Sousuke was so nasty to watch, I was cringing and trying hard not too look away (don't forget folks, I admitted a crush on this girl a few weeks ago). This guy is playing his role extremely well from what I can see, to the point that I'm kinda scared of how the fans are going to react to him on the street, lol.

I've usually been one to steer closer to the light and comedic shows, and I can already tell from this first episode this is going to test me, but in a good way. It's captivated me, and I will submit that Ueno Juri has FINALLY broken free of that goofball image in my eyes (thank God). Going to keep going with this show, absolutely brilliant so far (I just pray that it gets a PROPER ENDING).

I will admit I haven't seen as many roles she has been in than you, but put into consideration here's where I saw her:

- Nodame Cantabile
- Joudan Janai
- Engine
- Last Friends

Now, ask yourself why I'd think she was somewhat being typecast in my eyes?

Oh, and why would Nodame fans come after me? I'm just sayin she isn't going to be JUST the silly one and nothing more.

The only one in that list I'd say is goofball would be Nodame...

JJ had her set pretty bad too if you think about it (or do I have to remind you of her Pink Sentai moment? ), I guess you could put Engine in the other category, but still...does it matter, it was a compliment!

....grrr, have to redownload episode 2, stupid thing corrupted somehow.

I am hoping for more of Mizukawa Asami... She is so pretty...
