Speed watching - a trend on the rise given all the recycled dramas/stories on air.
That said,it would really take an exceptional scripwriter for a drama to stand out nowadays. There are so many dramas out there that there are bound to be similarities and it gets harder everytime a new drama comes out, average just won't cut it anymore.Maybe that's what prompt the scriptwriter of Last Friends to test the boundary of lesbians and gays;something that is unseen and unheard of in Japanese dramas. _________________

Actually, I watched the first two episodes, and they were quite entertaining! Of course, nothing will compare to the first version, but this is not bad. And Nakama Yukie is breathtakingly beautiful, more so than even in Gokusen ! (when she doffs her glasses and frees up her hair!) I'm going to give it a chance.
(I didn't like Gokusen 2, either!)

Just watched the a few scenes of gokusen 3~ I'm still hoping for something different! Although I know it won't come true.. Huhu~ But at least something is different in the 1st ep. Nevertheless it's still the same as the 1st and 2nd season. How sad~ And Takaki's not even a good actor! Miura Haruma - I don't know yet~ I haven't watched him act before. The ratings kinda going down..but they're still high.
Well, I really like the theme song though! _________________

I dont know.. I was pretty reluctant to watch it but I forced myself to sit through it and it was rather enjoyable in the end after all.
But agreed, a season 3 is really too much of a good thing. Like going to church 3 times in one day. And it's hard to be convinced how those pretty boys can be bad asses. no other reason to watch than for the eye candies.

Well I loved Gokusen 1 thought 2 was ok I'll prolly think the same of 3
Watched the first ep today and quite enjoyed it, it's the same old same old really but I can live with that for a bit of light hearted fun. I like Kazama's character best, a couple of the students bugged me rawr but hopefully I'll warm up to them ^^ _________________
I'm watching it because I'm hoping to recapture the familiar happy, warm feeling I had when I watched Gokusen. I love the characters-- I miss Yankumi, Sawatari, the grandpa, Tetsu, Minoru... (And Sawada Shin, too, of course!) It's a feeling that's hard to describe if you don't feel the same way.
So many people of all ages have loved Gokusen--not just starry-eyed high school or college students! (My sister is in her forties, my brother in his thirties, my dad in his late seventies, his wife in her late fifties...) They loved it with a passion! My dad has watched it three times, I think! And they shared it with all of their friends of like ages. People just love Gokusen for its big-heartedness, its humor, its sense of camaraderie, the growth of the characters--so many reasons! (Not just the "bishonen"!)
So, perhaps at least some of the spirit of Gokusen can be recaptured through Gokusen 3. Even if it's just a shadow of Gokusen, it's enough for me! I am not disputing that it may not live up to Gokusen, or even that some of the plot is redundant. It's just that I love Gokusen so much, I am willing to see this nevertheless!

..I just saw ep.2 of G3?..
.. what if The Detective Guy from the Season 1 will appear and ended-up on this currently season, coz KUMA ended-up with the girl he saved on Season 1 right?... because he's the only guy who likes him in the end, and Yankumi likes him too, and if u compare to the guy in season 2, they didnt have that much scene, unlike on season 1, Shinoharasan & Yankumi...
... hopefully he showed up in this season...crossing my fingers...

Gokusen's the first jdrama I saw. And it's my all-time favorite. The second season wasn't that bad, but in my opinion, it could have been better. But I'm still happy that there was another season. Because I love Gokusen.
And now there's a 3rd season, I'm happy about it, too. I'm still hoping for a shin-comeback since I'm a big fan of 'Shinkumi'. I've watched the first episode of the 3rd season. I don't know anyone except the old cast and the dude from '14 sai no haha'. When I first saw him in that drama, he was like a stone. Can't act at all. And the new boys don't look like bad..boys at all.
I'd still watch it, though. Because of Yukie~ Even though I maybe can predict what happens next.
Anyway, has any of you guys heard the rumor about the Gokusen Movie? o__O
