Yep, there's no denying Yamapi just sucks so far in the drama.

People will continue to watch because, thankfully, Yamapi isn't the only actor on the show, nor is his character the only one who has issues to deal with.

Well, the first two episodes were pretty cool so far. I'm not a big Yampi fan. But even he is doing good. Aragaki is +20 and Toda Erika is +20. It looks like it's going to be an "Achievment" drama. Which is my favorite type.

You know, this drama is a good representation of why the new doramas are better than the old crap. Code Blue has character, style, and innovation on an old theme.

Granted, it's not better than some of Aya's "Achievment" dramas (eg Attention Please or Attack No. #1) ... but this Code Blue is going to be pretty good. Applaud

Episode #3 on deck for tonight.

I'm on verge of dropping this again, I thought it improved in ep2, but ep3 was just corny as hell.

i gotta admit, i don't like this drama so far. about yamapi's expression, isn't this how his character supposed to be? aizawa supposed to be a cocky intern who can be so careless about anything else. what kind of expression would you guys portray if you guys were to be acting as aizawa?

i never said that yamapi is a good actor [he is not but he is improving though] as for code blue, i think this is how the production wanted aizawa to be, expressionless and cocky.

Let see, I think just because the character is supposed to be that way doesn't necessarily take Yamapi off the hook just yet. Perhaps the producers had Yamapi in mind when creating the show, and simply made the character that worked to Yamapi's strengths, which at this point seems to be a single facial expression. Perhaps the writers simply had no choice but to make the character expression and cocky. Sort of like that other dude in Last Friends, except you subtract cocky and add in psychotic.

But, I don't know for sure, since obviously I don't know what goes on behind-the-scenes. Regardless, if the character is supposed to be expressionless, I hope it doesn't go on for the rest of the series because that would be one boring character. That goes for the other three candidates as well.

I don't mind being proven wrong, with Yamapi, Aragaki and the others breaking out and delivering good acting and character development. It'll simply turn what is a boring drama so far into a good one. Victory! Peace!

The thing is, out of all of the 'pretty boys' that are out there on the scene (aside from Arashi badass Kazunari Ninomiya! Victory! Peace!), Yamapi does have the potential to provide some range to his acting. While I can see what some people mean that his character in this show is supposed to be expressionless and cocky, it's a contradiction that is just extremely complex to pull off...and he doesn't have the ability to do it yet, it just comes off as weird.

This is one of those shows that, unlike Last Friends where you could pinpoint the issue being the writers, we've got not-too-stellar actors doing miscast roles with a poorly written script. It's not a HORRIBLE show (especially when put up against something like Lotto 6, poor Sorimachi.... Shake Head), but it needs improvement.

i believe that yamap sama is doing(acting) exactly as directed. whether he has pulled it off is ?able to say the least. i live in the "fandom" of yamap, though i detest this drama, will continue to watch (yes, marspeach "masochism"). as ugly as gakky's so-call bangs are, and as for "yo! fluffy" yamap's dreadful hair - nothing will change Bonk
as for emotions from aizawa - there is hope, his "obachan" will be admitted as patient in a future ep Fingers crossed

I thought as each artist was doing a plenty of great jobs in the 3rd episode, since the storyline looked pretty much better than the 2nd one. I am so touched when I was able to sense that Yamapi, as Aizawa had begun feeling that he should care about how sick people feel. I then had realized as he was not a cocky likes to act like a cool.

Thanks for Gakky, and the rest of artists as well. w00t!

Tonight's episode started out strong but quickly fizzled out. The same level of acting was maintained and I found myself flipping to NTV to watch Downtown DX. The preview to next week's episode 5 looks promising but as of now this one is starting to turn into Code Boo Bored

Ok now I'm flabergasted for all the flame code blue is getting. the first epi blew me away. it did touch on a lot of issues enough to recieve my empathy; they were so jam-packed in one episode.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "good drama" but I'm interested to know what you saw that were good.

By negation, these are one of the worst dramas:

Last Friends - boring, boring, boring.
Ganbatte Ikimashio (or something)
Gokusen 1-3 - for its sheer repitiveness (but hey, I got through all the episodes)
Ashita Kita Yoshio

so am i to believe that the 16% ratings Code Blue have been receiving are because of the various casts "fandom" - because according to all the "drama critics" this drama sucks! Powerful fandoms Bow

...WHAT?! Sweat
I agree it wasn't the worst ever, and I can see how some people may like it, but... I find it hard to believe that first episode could be that impacting.

You need to watch more dorama Beaten

I think it mainained 16% for ep3 because ep2 was pretty good... it's now fallen to 13.2%.
This is still decent, but any series that loses 1/3 of initial audience is a huge flop Shake Head

Yeah, last night's showing was very average imo. Why do I have the feeling the use of "Heli" is just a gimmick? I was expecting a lot more helicopter action. Sure it's used to get them from point A to B fast but do some fancy flying etc. to make it exciting. Maybe we'll get to see the helicopter have an inflight emergency/crashing. Needs more helicopter and more cowbell!

Yeah, i just watched ep4. They didn't even have any major off-site action in this episode Crazy

I think it was still slightly better than ep3, but I don't think it'll get much better. I'll just drop this series and watch something else.

uhm, okay... as i was reading your posts of wrath with this drama (and Yamapi) will you still recommend me watching the rest of the series? i actually enjoyed the first Ep except for the display of Yamapi's cockiness and know-it-all attitude.

Saw the third episode last night, and while there wasn't much character development (still), it was nice to see the four young doctors step up during the surgery. Choking under pressure was becoming an annoying theme, so good to see a change. There wasn't much more than that though, and I felt the rest of the show was a bit odd, trying to throw in some humor with the kids, and the stalker whose situation seemed serious then turned into something comical.
