Hey guys, so i was looking at a photo album just now of when i was a kid and i happened to come across a picture of myself holding a melting mickey mouse ice cream with part of a mickey mouse ear bitten off. I LOVED THAT ICE CREAM!!! Im actually starting a petition to bring it back and i was wondering if anyone on this forum would be interested in sigining my petition Sweat ?? I did research on how to start a petition and found out that in order for the companies to pay attention to it we have to get a whole lot of ppl on it but it doesnt just consist of names. they need addresses as well to prove that the ppl signing it actually really exist. ive already started it and so far i have 4 ppl. anyone wanna join???
you can email me ur name and address at [email protected] if you so choose to be on my petition. if not feel free just to talk about this delicious childhood treat. Just trying to get it back on shelves everywhere Mr Green .
The chocolate ears were the best part!!! heres the pic:

I started the Japanese Language class last night.

It's only 8 weeks, so i'm not expecting to learn much I don't know already. But I can tell it's going to be fun.

First of all, when I arrived we found out that the lady who was supposed to teach the class couldn't do it, so they had to find someone else. So we now have a Japanese lady called Yuki, who teaches Japanese at university w00t!
This increased my interest level x 10 Dancing

There's another 9 people in the class, and it's apparent that most of them have NO Japanese whatsoever, except one young guy who has a Japanese girlfriend and who is going to Japan at the end of the year to "meet the parents". Pretty much all of them are going to Japan for holidays, which made me very envious Sad It was really funny watching them trying to understand hiragana and trying to pronounce "hajimemashite" and "douzo yoroshiku" hehe I didn't have the opportunity to talk to Yuki-san one-on-one but I hope to next week.

Grand! Your class sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure you'll end up being the teacher's pet sooner than later. Wink

I always wanted to take classes, but I'm too darned lazy to look into it. I think you've inspired me to do some research. Victory! Peace!

I wish it was longer Sad

Yuki-san did say she also teaches at college (kind of a step below uni) but they didn't run the first year class this year. It's a 6-month course, 3 hours per week. I'm going to try to find out about it for next year Smile

Go for it Wyn-chan, you'll love it.

I went to a similiar class here in San Fernando. It was about 8 weeks too for 3 hours once a week. It was a 'conversational Japanese Language" class and was designed for tourists to Japan. I did enjoy it a lot though it did not give me the fundamentals I was hoping to get. Sadly I see it's not offered anymore as I would like to take again.

I took a class like that and lucky for me I did because that teacher asked if anyone wanted to take private lessons, which I did and I'm still currently taking it. Smile

lol

I'm definitely going to ask her if she watches dramas, and where she gets them from if she does. Unless there's something available on pay tv I don't know about, she would be getting the same programming I do. Maybe she misses Japanese TV Smile

You should. Whenever a Japanese customer asks me where I learned Japanese, I usually say, "Bangumi mite" and we end up talking about doramas.

Oil falls near $119 on demand concerns

By PABLO GORONDI, Associated Press

Oil prices slid further Tuesday, dropping to as low as $118 a barrel on widening expectations that the slumping U.S. economy will keep eroding consumer demand for gasoline and other petroleum products.

The U.S. dollar's gains against the euro also contributed to oil's decline. Light, sweet crude for September delivery was down $1.51 at $119.90 a barrel in premarket trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Earlier, it dropped to $118, before regaining some ground.

Crude has now fallen more than $25 since reaching a trading high of $147.27 on July 11. The growing belief that soaring prices have stifled demand has halted what appeared to be a relentless march higher.

"The main factor weighing on oil prices is worries about oil consumption being weakened, especially in the U.S.," said David Moore, a commodity strategist with Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney.

On Monday, the Commerce Department said consumer spending after adjusting for inflation fell 0.2 percent in June \ the biggest drop since February \ as shoppers dealt with higher prices for gasoline, food and other items.

Oil prices also fell as Tropical Storm Edouard seemed less likely to disrupt oil and natural gas output in the Gulf of Mexico. Though Edouard was threatening to pick up strength from warm Gulf waters and gain near-hurricane speeds over the next 24 hours, it likely would not be strong enough to damage offshore oil and natural gas drilling platforms that sit in its path.
--------------------------------------------------

Concerned? I'd think the only people concerned would be the oil companies and speculators, since their profits are dropping.... Jerks.

Several years ago I read that 90 percent of the US money supply was tainted with cocaine.

On an associated note...I read last year that they took water samples from the River Thames in London and they found traces of cocaine in that. No wonder they call it Merry Ole London.
