I do love Kudokan brand of humor but it kinda not meshing up just yet with the dark plot we were anticipating. Hopefully the combination of mystery and humor will be better as the series goes on. The lightness of the first episode was to showcase the siblings bond I guess...
So kirinlemon... do you have any news from akusub? Will he take on the project?

Hate to say this, although I like "Beautiful Days", it doesn't go well with what I expect out of RnK Sweat .The meaning of the song is really sad which contradicts with happy-sugary melody, so in theory the contradiction should fit perfectly with the Ariake siblings. Still... as a themesong, the melody is suppose to set the mood, not the words imo. So I'm kind of worried if they going to turn this into fluff just by listening to the themesong Sweat

it was different from what i had expected, it's indeed light because of the comedy but then some of the comic parts seemed too corny for me that's why i suddenly got worried..the next episodes had to be better.. Fingers crossed

Yey for high ratings!
A question: Is Mika going to be a regular or just making a guest appearance ala Utada Hikaru in "Hero"?. It'll be really awesome if she's an important character.

old news but... just feel like posting it here:
Quote:
TELEVIEWS / Will George Clooney's hayashi rice hit the spot for 'Ryusei no Kizuna?'

Wm. Penn Daily Yomiuri Columnist

At the TV restaurant this week, you can choose from the new autumn menu or settle for a side order of reruns. But watch out. There's something fishy about the hayashi rice.

That's the main item on the menu of Ryusei no Kizuna (Fridays, 10 p.m., TBS, starting Oct. 17). Based on a best-selling mystery novel, the series focuses on the Ariake family. The parents were running a small restaurant known for its hayashi rice (sliced beef and onions in a demi-glace sauce with rice) when they were murdered 14 years ago. Kazunari Ninomiya plays the eldest of the couple's three children. The two boys and a girl, now in their 20s, were raised in an orphanage managed by a man who also runs George Clooney, a curry restaurant where hayashi rice is on the menu. Then, there is the young Azabu restaurateur who hangs out at George Clooney and whose father also owns a chain of restaurants known for their hayashi rice. A good cast just might make this gritty gourmet gravy mystery palatable, but I'm still left with one big unanswerable question: Does the real George Clooney like hayashi rice?

Added: another softsubber!

the more the merrier Mr Green
..and more reasons to watch it again Bleah
I think the drama is good enough to have multiple subbers.

Nakashima's character is someone who doesn't exist in the book, but KudoKan is writing her as a mysterious character that as the story progresses, her character become more and more important. That's what the papers said. Umm... so yeah, she's a regular! w00t!

Y'know, I was 100% sure that the 2nd ep rating will drop. But considering Nakashima Mika will appear next week, there's a 10% possibilty that might not be the case^^

Yey! I think she's a nice addition to the cast. Saw the preview

. More star attraction to bait audience. Thankfully the cast aren't just pretty faces but with talent to boot Smile

I'm really loving Koichi! He is such an adorable concerned big brother. Another question about Koichi ...

Squint or you might miss part:

Kudokan work is best digested the second time imo

At first I'm quite sure its impossible to have as high a rating for the 2nd episode but now I'm enjoying it so much more after the 2nd viewing and Mika will be in it, it just might stay brilliant.

^ no, we are all bias Twisted

Its too early to judge anyways..

There's a lot of great dramas you'll miss by trying to evade the rich sea of glorious JE like Tiger & Dragon, Yasashii Jikan, Nobuta wo Produce, 1 Litre of Tears.. Maou (ok.. slightly bias for my adopted drama Sweat).. but yeah. Sorry, for your lost.

I can, but I won't say it's good. The overall story for episode 1 is enjoyable, and the comedy is acceptable. I'd say it's okay. Can't beat Maou's (no, I am not bias, go watch it yourself.) idea and intensity though.
