How did you create the first ghost image?
Does the ghost image using Norton have more files than the other image? |
I use Norton Ghost, restart and boot from CD and create the partition C: drive to a Ghost Image file, must locate the ghost image file to save to other local drive partition. It's just an image file with its extension is " .Gho" ...
and also can use it to Ghost a image of a HDD to another HDD, just something like clone

Funny, they must have listened to your cries. I was prompted for an update to FF2.

Yeah, it's the LAST update for FF2, so I figured the time was right.
And besides, they finally ported the Obit Yellow theme to FF3.

You can always check if the add-ons are available before committing, like I did: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox

I was afraid someone would say something like that.

Yeah, that's true...
I didn't really intend it as a backup, but merely a large temporary storage for downloads before they get burned/archived.... In other words, it lets me be lazy.

Would a Seagate or WD external be any better?
It's the luck of the draw I think, since they're all pretty much internal HDDs with an enclosure and some electronics, huh?

there were 2 500gb WDs inside, RAID 0. The power supply in the Buffalo enclosure fried the first drive in the chain. There were scorch marks around the 4 pin power plug. Second drive was fine, but since it's a RAID 0, it was useless.
AND before you say it. It was in server room (50F) mounted on 1 of 4 racks w/ 2 other Dell PowerEdge servers. The power was conditioned, surge protected and connected to a 2 day UPS.

I wouldn't have thought it was heat-related... Sounds like something shorted.
Unusual, but it does happen.
We had some circuit boards at work which had the electrolytic capacitors installed backwards: over time, during use, the capacitors self-destructed along with the board...

It will if you don't use it.

I just installed FF3 (after being bugged about it for a while) and both of these addons are compatible with FF3. You may need to update them.
