For those of you that are interesting in a crime drama:

Lupin no Shousoku SP.

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Lupin_no_Shosoku

Yes, there will be English subs. It's 75% complete. Hopefully we'll post them in a few days!

I guess you can check our wiki for projects and try downloading them while we're working on them and while there are still seeds. Or maybe someone can post the ddl on LJ.

Hello everybody,
Thanks for all recommendations. I love watching Japanese dramas, especially romance+comedy genre.
Here are some of my favourites:

Change
Long vacation
Sora kara furu ichioku hoshi
Majou no joken
Strawberry on the shortcake
Hana yori dango 1

I would like to start watching something different such as mistery or crime dramas, but I am really interested whether there are such genre as science fiction dramas. If anyone knows about any, please let me know.

Hello fellow JDorama members!

I would just like a few recommendations on what Jdramas to watch.

I enjoy watching crime/mystery/suspense dramas that revolves around an amazingly skillful/smart protagonist or antagonist. The drama can be "dark", but preferably not too serious. It would be perfect if it has few comical moments here and there in each episodes. I have watched Liar Game, Death Note and Galileo, and am currently watching Bloody Monday. I gotta say, they match my taste perfectly. =)

Unfortunately there isnt a search engine on the internet that I can use to find this genre of Jdrama. So I'd have to ask for all of you guys' help!

Thanks!

You could also try the Furuhata Ninzaburo series, if you can find them subbed anywhere.

There is also the recently finished Nanase Futatabi, a mystery science fiction drama about a group of people with supernatural powers.

So my girlfriend & I finished Last Christmas over the break, and we're working on Hotaru no Hikari. With the economy down and both of jobs slowing, we need somthing with a happy ending. Any recommendations?

And just for me, any classics? Preferably something where I can spot old cars and motorcycles.

I second that! Koi no Chikara is a simple straight forward drama, but it's so enjoyable to watch. One of the top 5 dramas I've ever seen.

Hello all! It's my first time to post here and I hope that you could recommend jdramas for me. I really like comedies especially romantic comedies. I don't like tear jerkers and sad/tragic dramas.

These are the dramas I really liked:

Nodame Cantabile (my favorite! Super funny and romantic. Smile )
Hana Kimi (lots of cute boys hehe :p )
Himitsu no Hanazono (funny. Hinata was is very cute Smile )
Hana Yori Dango

Dramas which I found OK:

Kimi wa Petto
H2 (not yet finished. Only watched up to episode 3)

Dramas which I watched but not yet finished because I didn't fall in love with the first few episodes:

Attention Please
Haken no Hinkaku

I hope you could recommend something that's right up my alley. Thank you very much!!!

I'd recommend Muri na Renai... Though the two main characters are older adults...

Some good high school life comedies are Nobuta wo Produce, Hana Yori Dango and Proposal Daisakusen. There's Hanazakari no Kimitachi e too, but that doesn't have many cute actresses, just Horikita Maki, and she's in a male role. I mean, she's pretending to be male in the dorama's plot. She looks as cute as ever to me though.
