NEWS:
From Tokyograph:
Video Research Ltd. has published its TV commercial data for the entire year of 2008. For the past three years, Yukie Nakama has been #1 in the Kanto region, but this time her streak was ended by actor Hiroshi Tamaki. He accounted for nearly 70 hours of airtime in almost 12,000 commercials, putting him close to 18 hours ahead of Nakama.
Aya Ueto, Yu Aoi, and Takuya Kimura made up the rest of the top five. The biggest gain was by Nana Eikura, who jumped from 147th last year to 9th this year.
In the Kansai area, Tamaki was only #3, trailing behind Maki Ota and Kosuke Toyohara, who tied for #1 at 64 hours thanks to an Alico Japan campaign. Meanwhile in Nagoya, Aya Ueto retained her #1 seat from last year, edging out Tamaki by just over an hour.

"Gokusen" goes to the big screen
Wed, March 4, 2009 (1:00am EST)
The popular drama series "Gokusen" is getting a movie version this summer. After three highly-rated seasons, the film will be the last time that lead actress Yukie Nakama plays the role of the teacher Yankumi.
The third season of "Gokusen" aired last spring and ended with a successful 22.8% average rating. The movie takes place after the graduation of that season's third-year class, which includes students played by Yuya Takaki and Haruma Miura. The story is related to a special episode airing on March 28 that deals with a big confrontation between the third-year students and the second-year students. In the movie, the same characters are involved again, but the story is set during the following school year.
The leader of the second-year students in the drama special is played by Kis-My-Ft2 member Yuta Tamamori, who has never acted in a television drama before. He will also appear in the movie.
NTV's Toya Sato, who worked on the dramas, is directing. The film is scheduled to open in July. _________________
...but no, because the japanese love to bring back working formulas till they bleed them dry. hehe.
it's just a wonder how gokusen 3 could still get high ratings. who knows, NTV might think of doing another one, then another, until the ratings fall so low they have to pull it out! _________________

It's gonna end up like the Rocky or Rambo movies...
I like SPEED too and was happy to see them back. They were just on SMAPxSMAP and performed a medley of their hits. It was good even with Nakai's voice singing

Wow! Lucky you to be in Japan!
SPEED and Yukie Nakama are both Okinawans... the 90s was great! I just hope that Eriko and Hiroko work on their voices... They're better performers now, though. _________________
