Finally finished Top Sales... Victory! Peace!

I'd give the drama an 8/10.

I really liked Natsukawa Yui's character: Feisty, determined, yet vulnerable... I'd buy a car from her in a minute. Mr Green

I'd buy sushi from her. I wouldn't eat it... but I'd buy it.

I'm just finishing up Q.E.D.. I wouldn't buy anything from the leads of this show but it's not their fault. I'm just out of the demographic.

"Q.E.D." is a detective show on the level of a Nancy Drew / back of the Sunday comics puzzle page, sort of affair. Really not very interesting for an old fud, and the female lead spends too much time huffing helium for my sensitive ears.

That probably explains the low ratings. Beaten

Just finished the SP, Arigatou! Champy, about the people involved in training Japan's first guide dog. It could have been chessy, but sincere and heartfelt performances, particularly from the supporting cast, made watching it a rather touching experience for me. I even thought about making subtitles for it... The music score and theme song were fitting too.

Just finished Jyoou no Kyoushitsu and I have to say that it was the best school drama i've ever seen. The teacher is freaking awesome and the story is excellent and my jaw dropped on the floor when I first saw the ending theme song video,,

and I just also finished Iryu
A drama that taught me that anything can be 50X more badass
if you add guitar riffs to the backround

Door to Door (SP). I like it, but then it's a very likeable story. I felt they glossed over the hardship of being a door-to-door saleman a bit too quickly. Good performances by Nino and Higuchi Kanako(sp?) as the mother, but I can't remember anything particularly special about it. I suspect the original American version was probably better.

D/loaded The Naminori Restaurant in it's entirety from my ftp service...

this show has an awesome cast...

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/The_Naminori_Restaurant

sadly, no one subbed it, so it will be my first attempt to watch a dorama without subs...

the 6 minutes per episode format might help, so we shall see!

In my opinion, this is the best JDrama's I've seen thus far.
Koga and Hina are awesome! I will be watching episode 8 today...

One question: I've read on the DramaWiki that there is one Special of "Koukou Kyoushi 2003". Is this correct? If yes, where can I find it?

Finished ep1 of Souri to Yobanai de http://jdorama.com/drama.391.htm. Not a big fan of Tamura, but hopefully Suzuki, Tsuruta and Keiko Toda can offset that.

Mark

I saw "Souri to Yobaanai de" a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it.

Like you, Tamura gets old for me. But this was a good part for him... and Suzuki must have had a ball playing against type.

Not one of the all time greats, but a lot more fun than "Change".

Right now I'm watching Maou.

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Maou

After the first couple of episodes I thought I could come in here and say it was pretty good... as long as you have a fast forward button and are prepared to use it.

But I'm up to episode 6 now, and I'm not so sure my fast forward finger can save this one.

It's the story of a carefully thought out, devilishly clever, wildly intricate, revenge plot.

But words like melodrama, and overwrought have replaced the word 'clever' in my mind.

And it's not helped by the acting that is, for the most part, nothing but amateurish histrionics.

90% of the show consists of meaningful looks exchanged with no one in particular... slow motion reveals of a new face entering the scene... and the ever present musical score that swells to add meaning to dull conversations, and a chorus that does it's best to fill some of the empty spaces.

I'm gonna keep watching. Mostly because Kichise Michiko has a part in it and she's the reason cameras were invented.

But partly because, aside from the bad acting, and the lousy direction, I think there's a story in here... somewhere. And I want to see how it all turns out.

Being subbed in English, available on the jdrama group on livejournal- you need a livejournal account and have to be a member of the group to download. It's all free but some people have trouble understanding this. I don't know if it's up streamed anywhere because I don't go on streaming sites.
