Yonekura Ryoko is pretty awesome, y'know... She was my number one before getting bumped by Juri-chan. Mr Green

Natsukawa Yui is pretty in her own right and an excellent actress... Don't let the fact that she's older deter you from a very good, if offbeat drama.

It's screencap from an outtake video of Nodame. Victory! Peace!

Hey everyone, first time poster and also first time I saw a Jdrama!

So I was looking for jdramas similar to My Boss My Hero , since I enjoyed it immensely. Preferably, one that would be popular enough to be fan subbed since my japanese is not adequate enough for such an ordeal :p

Hope to drop by more often! Thanks in advance!

For me, right after I watched My Boss, My Hero; I watched Tiger & Dragon...same actor, just as funny IMO.

Thank you for the recommendations so far, but I have been unable to find Tiger & Dragon anywhere. Does it go by another name?

I will also check nodame cantabile

Just wanted to put in my first post too.

Like bmwracer suggested, if you liked My Boss, My Hero (one of my faves as well) Tiger and Dragon is a definite must. I personally have yet to watch Nodame but heard really good things about it.

If I can add one more recommendation for you, especially if you liked the style of My Boss; it would be Gokusen. I've watced only the first season...and am re-watching it right now -- just as good as the first time 'round.

Cheers.

Hey guys! I've just finished Mr Brain and was so bored that I forced myself to watch through Atashinchi no Danshi (no offence to Maki fans but it's the plot that's rather far-fetched LOL).

Anybody can recommend any good dramas in recent times? I'm interested in...

Mystery/Suspense: Galileo, Mr Brain, Bloody Monday, QED

High school dramas: Gakko ga Oshierarenai, ROOKIES, Nobuta wo Produce

Comedy/Romance: Nodame Cantabile (I know there are alot of Juri fans here Bleah)

If there's nothing interesting left, I wouldn't mind sitting through a pretty boy/girl drama eg. Hana Kimi, Mei-chan no Shitsuji. Smile

Thank you in advance!

Right here. Mr Green Victory! Peace!

Have you seen any of the Kuitan or Jiko Keisatsu series?

They're enjoyable mystery/police/comedy shows. Smile

Mystery/Suspense: Majo Saiban, The Quiz Show
High School Drama: Taiyo to Umi no Kyoushitsu (a bit on the dark side), LIFE (even darker one)

Thanks guys! All the shows sound interesting. Smile I'll think I'll start off with The Quiz Show. Rather reluctant to restart Majo Saiban because I watched the 1st episode and couldn't find the rest and was left hanging, but that'll come next.

Taiyo to Umi no Kyoushitsu and Jikou Keisatsu look fun to watch too! These will keep me busy till school reopens. ^_^

This is my first post here so Hi All Wink
In past You guys helped me a lot with choosing drama to watch so Thanks for that
Bow

But now I have a favour to ask, I'm a little tired of those sad and full of romance drama and I'm looking for some nice JP comedy.

It doesn't hurt when there are some sad moments or romance in it, but I don't want it to be main topic. Well Im sure U will know what I mean

I have seriously watched a lot of series so I wonder if U can find anything interesting I haven't seen yet Fingers crossed

Churasan is long but very funny.

Ohsama no resutoran is one of the classic series and probably the most entertaining with the best ensemble cast.

Cool. Victory! Peace!

Kuitan is a mix of comedy, crime drama, and food obsession... And hilarious.

Jiko Keisatsu is like a wacky, comedy version of the American crime dramas Cold Case and Columbo... And very funny as well.
