Almost done watching atashinichi danshi and I'm loving it so far! But I need to look for a new drama to watch after so I'm looking for reccomendations please!!~
I love dramas like hana kimi, Mr. Brain, Hana Yori Dango, Mei-chan, Nodame, hotaru no hikari, Zettai Karashi, and lunch queen so typically comedy-romance dramas. I didn't quite like Gokusen because of the repetition of style
Oh yeah, handsome guys in dramas really makes me love the drama even more LOL and keeps me focused on watching the drama (This is probably one of the the main reasons I loved atashinichi ) this is only a preference though LOL

I've already seen Proposal Daisakusen heh, (forgot about that drama.)
If you liked mei-chan, you are most likely going to like atashinichi. It depends on what you personally like. I would say if you enjoyed hana kimi, you would definetly love atashinichi.

I haven't been able to watch any Jdramas in the past 2 years or so.
My taste is mainly comedy. I can deal with romance as long as it is totally hilarious. Here are my favourites to give you an idea of what I like:
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko
My Boss My Hero
Nodame Contabile
Densha Otoko
Brother Beat
Engine
So if there are any funny dramas that came out in the past 2-4years I would appreciate you guys pointing them out to me. Thanks a lot! _________________

You can try:
Around 40(2008)
Zettai Kareshi(2008)
Hotaru no Hikari(2007)
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e(2007)
If you like Engine you must watch Wonderful Life(2004); Engine is a copy of Wonderful Life, even the characters are the same: you just trade Kimutaku for Sorimachi Takashi, Koyuki for Hasegawa Kyoko and racing for baseball.

Hey thanks for the recommendations guys!
I think I screwed up in my wording. I didnt mean just 2-4 years old. What I meant was anything new up to 4 years ago. So I accept new stuff too

I recently watched Change, then Engine (without knowing that Kimura Takuya was in both until I started watching Engine). Decided I liked Kimura's work, so now I'm watching Karei Naru Ichizoku. I chose it because it's set around the time I was born. The production crew must've spent a bunch of money and time on the backdrops and digital work, bringing 1967 Japan back to the screen.
However, I need another romantic comedy for my girlfriend and I to watch together. She liked Engine, but fell asleep during the first episode of Change. I'm sure Karei Naru Ichizoku would put her to sleep too. We recently watched Star no Koi and liked that. But we never finished Hotaru no Hikari, as it just kept getting weirder. We also tried Koi no Chikara, but didn't get past episode 5. I've thought about Love Shuffle, but I watched the first episode and don't know if I want to give her any ideas.
Originally, I started her on Bus Stop, and then Last Christmas, which is still her favorite.

Well if you like Kimura's works then you may try these romances; 2004's PRIDE, 1997's Love Generation, 1996's Long Vacation. 2001's Beautiful Life is a love story as well but it's more on the sad, serious side. _________________

So, um, any other recommendations?
So you like Kimura's work and she like romantic comedies.. Long Vacation and Pride. "Long Vacation" is about Kimura Takuya as a struggling pianist who met a sassy woman who was left on the altar by her groom. Hilarity ensues as he tried to shake her off. "Pride" is an ice hockey extravaganza with Queen as the bgm. The chemistry between the Yuko Takeuchi and Takuya Kimura was fantastic.
edit: agree with WD on "Beautiful Life". Its bittersweet (I bawled watching this)
