Ueno Juri and the bags

Today WOWOW did the official press announcement of their upcoming omnibus dorama "Ueno Juri & The Five Bags" and of course, Ueno herself attended the event to promote the dorama the best she can. As reported in an earlier news, she is going to play 5 different roles in 5 episodes, directed by 5 different directors, but all of them episodes will focus on some kind of bags.

"I got the chance to get involved in the planning right from the beginning," Ueno explained at the event. "We had so many and intense discussions about the episodes, it was really amazing." She clearly seemed to be satisfied with being involved in the project as more than just being the starring actress.

They also already announced the title and the director of the first episode, "Guitar Case Woman" directed by Takahata Hideta. That story is going to feature her as a street musician performing her songs in front of Tokyo�fs Gotanda Station. It will also be the first time we are going to see Ueno playing a guitar in a dorama/movie. Other directors include Michael Arias (The Animatrix, Heaven�fs Door) who directed the 4th episode called "Hope". This episode is going to featuring Ueno as a struggling animator (pic on the right) trapped overnight in an elevator. (For anime fans, they shot the movie at the Madhouse studios!) – Yamashita Nobuhiro is also going to be one of the 5 directors that are going to put her in 5 truly unique characters.

"The fixed theme is Ueno and 5 bags, but each of the directors had totally different visions of what kind of story to tell around that topic. It would be great, if one day I could take part in one of their upcoming projects." Ueno added at the end of the event. Five talented directors and one amazing actress, definitely a little project you should put on your list of upcoming doramas.

By the way, that�fs a 200million Yen diamond bag she�fs holding in those pictures.
