I am a bit stressed at work so I watched the first episode of Love Story last night.
Looking at Toyokawa Etsushi Smitten In love is soo relaxing.

Finished Moso Shimai, as to be expected of a portmanteau series some stories are better than others, but there some real gems. The linking story doesn't quite work and only really succeeds in the final episode.

Also up to ep 7 of Majo Saiban it's one of those enjoyable hyperactive thriller/mystery doramas in which it's best not to think about the plot holes and general dumbness of the characters too much.

(==> Dammit, I spend a few episodes with his chowderheaded character... en I kent ivven spell good no mo'... Shtoopidity is infektiouss, yesss?) All I really knew about him was that: 1) he's a Johnny, and 2) he's famous for playing these Himbos!-with-a-Heart! roles. The plot contrivances here are as facile and shallow as you'd find in any high school farce (*cough* GOKUSEN 2 *cough*), but but BUT Nagase Tomoya is comedic GOLD, and he IS a riot to watch. And--and-- dayyyyum, but the man is hot. Ehehehehe you dumb sexy beast. (I just wish the Yakuza would do us all a favor and stiff that androgynous little shrimp of a fairy-boy who follows Nagase's character around like a puppy. A mangy, flea-bitten puppy. seems like another Tomobaby convert in here. w00t! w00t! w00t! MBMH is great and he is SOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOT in there. but if you really want to check his proper yakuza role again with hint of comdey, you really should watch Tiger & Dragon. it's the best drama out there. Applaud Applaud Applaud
watching Karei-naru Spy eps 5-8 Muack Muack Muack

The Chef (1995)

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Chef

Wow. After dabbling in Korean Dramas for a couple of weeks I felt the need to get back to Japan. And I don't think I could have picked a better show... because this show couldn't have come from anywhere but Japan.

It is, in short, nuts.

Higashiyama Noriyuki (Kuitan) is the star. The "Phantom Chef." -- "The Renegade Chef" as he's called in the show. And this thing is more fantastical, more stylized than "Kuitan" was.

The Phantom Chef who works only for huge sums of cash in advance. The Phantom Chef who has his underground lair. He has his powerful enemies... He has the beautiful Reporter (with a secret past) who follows his every move, and his young apprentice who tags along. And of course... the Chef has his secret background. And oh yes... there's a rich, beautiful woman who is the Chef's nemesis.

Imagine a serialized version of the Green Hornet made in the late 1930s. Only instead of fighting crime and spies... the Phantom Chef... Cooks.

The video I have is pretty bad. There are only 9 episodes, and the version I have is missing most of episode 2. But here I am, two episodes in, and I'm happy as a clam.

A pox on your production values, and High Def. This is the good stuff.

Hmm... Is he wearing a mask like the Green Hornet.

Sounds intriguing... It's gotta be tongue-in-cheek, huh?

Oh yeah. But they never break character. Higashiyama Noriyuki is in his trench coat again, usually black leather this time, and his character, the Chef, can only be contacted by going to a small ramen stand out on the docks. Order 20 pieces of (some odd Japanese food) and mysteriously The Chef will arrive out of the night in his white Mercedes.

Lots of posed pictures of him, standing tall against the stormy night, with lightning strikes illuminating the sky behind him.

His companions are basically Lois and Jimmy (1930s style).

I'll let you know how it holds up once I've finished. But this is gonna take a few days. I don't see myself using the ff with this one.

Cool. Victory! Peace!

I'll to do some searching for this one... I really liked Noriyuki in Kuitan and this sounds quite good... Smile

Finished watching Oyaji, very enjoyable.

Then moved on to Gokusen. I watched the first 2 episodes and was reminded of GTO. THough with Nakama Yukie, Ito Misaki, AND Nakazawa Yuko lots of nice things to look at... Victory! Peace!

I even wonder if there are still people to watch these sequels... (well, yeah I do hehe )

At least, they could have kept Misaki and Yûko Sad

Galileo Ep. 7. Another special guest, this time it's Fukada Kyoko. It took me a while to realise it was her. I can see why people don't think much of her acting, but in small doses it's hard to notice, because she's so damn beautiful Nut
