Galileo Ep. 7. Another special guest, this time it's Fukada Kyoko. It took me a while to realise it was her. I can see why people don't think much of her acting, but in small doses it's hard to notice, because she's so damn beautiful
Hurray. Some one else who finds her attractive. I thought I was the only one. She became one of my beauties in Friends. I love the quirky way she looks at her co star with that guileless sensual glance.

My brother has the same opinion about her as AD. Acting leaves much to be desired, but he drools every time she's on screen. _________________

Well she sure wasnt the one I remember from Friends except maybe her rather annoying quality. No offense intended.
I remember that Korean hottie, Won Bin.
Reminds me of a younger KimuTaku in looks.
Been having fun watching dramas. Checked out RHPlus, kind of silly Vampire deal but the short format made it somehow more appealing.
Have another ep of SHiroi Haru done.
Checked out Buzzer Beat ep 1. THe fushia team colors are beyond hilarious. Im gonna like this one!
Really liked the first two eps of Atashinchi No Danshi, Off beat and looking really fun in a surreal type way. _________________

Won Bin was OK. I think generally Fukada Kyoko alienates women and then some guys love to dis her... kind of the mob mentality... they have to join in.
For me, give me an ending:

cute girl and good looking guy make up, romantic music, elegant decorations, and they will live happily ever after.... that to
me is the ultimate feel good ending and leaves me feeling good for days afterwards.. Kyoko chan has that kind of effect for me, much the same as the ending in Pride, Love Generation etc.... If guys would stop trying to be part of the mob so much and simply enjoy the good feelings instead of trying to outdo each other in dissing.... naaa... fraid they got to be too macho for that...
Now watch the stampeding herd charge in to show how much they hate Fukada Kyoko.... hehe...

Yes Ralph. That's because, as everyone knows, you are the sole arbiter of good taste and those who disagree with you only do so because they are mindless beasts following the herd. _________________

gaijinmark and issy: Thanks for the recs! Curiously enough, (before I read your replies) those two titles were the ones that caught my eye when I checked out Nagase Tomoya's dramawiki page.
issy: Lol, all along I didn't even know that Nagase Tomoya and "that bearded dude in Issy's avatar" were one and the same. Hehehe, I dunno, but I think I prefer him clean-shaven, hehehe... (So... you call him "Tomoya," and not "Nagase"? 'Coz Kimura looks nothing like a "Takuya," lol. Just asking, because I have no idea what you're supposed to call the man, although "Sexy Wild Beast" seems to suffice for now... )
Eve: (1) Won Bin IS a hottie --FACT!!! (2) He DOES look like Kimura circa the late '90s --FACT!!!

Won Bin was sidelined for years--by his army service, then by that bum knee. Too bad. Two of his most memorable films: 2001's GUNS AND TALKS (terrific black comedy, great ensemble acting ), and 2004's TAEGUKGI (weepy war epic). Anyway, I hope he does more dramas and films. Pretty talented guy.

After a somewhat lengthy Drama hiatus, I watched the first episode of Ruri no Shima tonight. I can't remember who originally recommended it to me, but it was a nice first ep. I absolutely adore the actress, Narumi Riko. I think she's a brilliant actress and really enjoyed her in 1 Litre of Tears and Hachimitsu to Kuroba (even though I wouldn't rate either of those as favorites). Also nice to see the lovely Konishi Manami again.
And.. hi everyone! I've been here, lurking on and off, just quiet
Oh - and let me know if you guys need help seeding anything - I now have 25mbit upload speeds _________________

I think plenty find her attractive... it's her acting (or lack of) that they don't like
I find the "(or lack of)" part in your sentence deeply unfair.
You might not like her quirky acting, but saying she does not act in front of the camera is just not true.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion just as much as I am, but I think you'll find even some of her admirers admit that she's not much of an actress

OT: Just about wrapped up Brand. The two leads, Miki Imai and Somegoro Ichikawa are doing a good job. Aiko Sato is annoying as hell. The only other drama I've seen Ichikawa in is Pride and he was pretty good in that as well. Maybe if he were a spiky-haired stick boy instead of a real actor he might get more work.

Regarding Won Bin in Friends. I watched the whole thing though because of him. But it was fun that it was a collaborative effort and it was one of the early jdramas for me and my first Fukaka series. But Im never against a happy ending.
There has actually been a series that I thought Fukaka was terrific in. And that was TO HEart. She plays the role of an almost stalker like fan. Very believable.

Brand is a serious favorite of mine. I loved the contrast between Modern High Fashion and Tea Ceremony.
@phlargo- Ruri No Shima is the BOMB! Think all of us have recommended it.
Watching ep 4 of Atashinchi No Danshi. Still FUN! _________________
