I downloaded a 14 gig torrent of Bara no nai Hanaya 720p files last night but I'm scouring the internet for soft-subs. Does anyone know where I can find them so I can add this to my currently watching series in good conscience
I understand they may not exist - so I'm also downloading the hard-subbed version.
Also, I know this is probably the wrong place - but I took a scan through each of the forums and couldn't find the subtitle thread. _________________

Brand is a serious favorite of mine. I loved the contrast between Modern High Fashion and Tea Ceremony.
It was pretty good but I'm guessing you probably liked it more than I did. My idea of "high fashion" is to make sure that no matter what the occasion is, I'm wearing the appropriate t-shirt.

Looks like this is going to be a J-Drama weekend!
I'm going to finish the first series of Gokusen (Only 3 left)
The last two parts of Shiroi Haru are finally available, so I'll finish that.
Then before even attempting Gokusen 2, I'm going to watch Ninkyo Helper.
I'm really looking forward to Untouchable. Anyone know if these are going to be subbed?

Heiwa Fansubs/and Rollins have called dibs on "Untouchables" over at d-addicts... but you never know. Sometimes subs get finished, sometimes they don't.
I saw Ninkyo Helper a little while ago. It's not a bad show.

If you can buy Nakama Yukie and her tame henchmen as Yakusa, you should be pretty comfortable with this group.

Mine is making sure the shirt is clean. _________________

Another new drama today. I watched the first episode of Bara no nai Hanaya. I'm really excited about seeing more. Neat to see Yuko in another role
And, after scouring the internet for softsubs for my 720p download and not finding them, I've got to contend with the very poorly seeded other ones. I may need some help from anyone who can help seed 6,7,9, and 11. I'll post a similar request in the BT seeding reqs.
Looks fun so far! _________________

Just finished Pandora. Man, what a great suspense drama.
It won some big award in "best screenplay" and rightly so.
First episodes are maybe a bit slow, but after that you better fasten your seatbelt...

Just finished Shiroi Haru....an excellent drama. Abe Hiroshi is definitely my favorite J-Actor. He can pull off any role (I think). Watching him in Trick versus Shiroi Haru, you can see he has talent.

Thanks for the advice I'll have to live with the low-res version - but I think that'll be okay - the encode still looks pretty nice. I was just awful spoiled by the few dramas I've been able to get in hi-def so I always look there first. _________________

I thought Shiroi Haru already has its own thread with massive comments ??
I'm relying on this thread to find 'new' dramas to watch. Just began on the Phantom Chef (1995) because of Kuitan but was sorely disappointed. Quite disgusted by the way he cooks as a genius. I meant in one scene he started a fire with kerosene to barbeque food...
I chanced upon Investigator Mariko and had a good time watching this 1999 drama. I was surprised by this first series. Great cast, dry humour ("Sensei, you can't die because a coroner cannot conduct her own autopsy"/ a coroner telling her nemesis, "My time is very precious. However if you really need it[autopsy], I can reserve a time slot for you").
I remember faintly that i had watched one of the later sequels of Investigator Mariko, I don't remember getting past the first episode because it was too dry with forgettable characters.

Any more comments about the drama?
Without going into too much detail or giving too much away, this drama definitely had its moments of humor and tear provoking moments....just couldn't help it, the pairing of Abe Hiroshi's intensity and Ohashi Nozomi's cuteness and innocence brought a lot of tears. I highly recommend this drama.

Finished Gokusen season 1, A good high school drama, lot's of funny parts, and many touching moments. I've heard mixed reviews about the next seasons, but I'll give them a chance. Oh, and the Drama is actually a "7" but I bumped it +1 just because of the awesomeness that is Nakama Yukie.
I plan to watch the 2003 special, and then move to Ninkyo Helper next. I'll come back to Gokusen 2 & 3 eventually just to see more Nakama-san.
