Has anybody seen the drama Aishiteru from this year. Would you think it's worth "wasting 9 hours" Mr Green

Definitely! Applaud
Plays on the number one fear of all parents, must see for them. "Drama of the Year" for me (JIN may be nice, but not very serious).

Aishiteru is a good drama if you can take the subject matter. Inamori Izumi is good in this. To me her character evokes more sympathy than the other grieving mother. Tanaka Misako is very good as usual too, even though she isn't one of the two main characters.

I was actually surprised that this was adapted from a manga.

Definitely worth the time to watch a family drama that deals with a serious subject.

Also, the ending surprised me a bit.

Thanks guys! ILll give it a try - I was afraid it would be on the too cheesy/melodramatic side.

I pretty much agree... Jodan ja Nai! had an interesting premise, but the story was awful and was a waste of time for the cast. bleh

BOSS has lots of eye candy, both male and female. It's a police/detective show and is fast paced and funny.

Hi chokakoi,
I saw in profile you liked Love Letter. If you liked the main actors, the series Love Story from 2001 is perfect for you.

Lighter stuff I'd recommend and I didn't see in your watch list:
- Mop Girl
- Tiger and Dragon
- Himitsu no Hamazono
- Golden Bowl

and perhaps those two, which have a bunch of then unknown heartthrobs in them:
- Long Love Letter
- Yankee Bokou no Kaeru

Hi! I'm looking for a few drama recommendations, I have no real preference on the genre, as long as the plot and acting is good. Some dramas I've LOVED are:
-1 Litre of Tears (Ichi Rittoru no Namida)
-Hotaru no Hikari
-Kekkon Dekinai Otoko
-Kimi wa Petto
-Last Christmas
-Last Friends
-Lunch Queen
-Nobuta wo Produce
-Nodame Cantabile
-Orange Days
-Pride
-Proposal Daisakusen
-Ryusei no Kizuna
-Shiroi Haru
-Yamada Tarou Monogatari

I've seen more dramas (I've added them to "My Drama" list if you guys can view that) but those are the ones that stuck with me. Is there anything you guys can recommend? I'd prefer more dramas no older than 2000 since the quality seems to drop a lot before that and I'm so spoiled by HD that it bothers me... Shake Head

Actually, it's more the reverse: the quality has tailed off since 2000 with the advent of Johnny's showing up in more and more dramas. bleh

Taiyou no Kisetsu i think is good too. but then, that's probably because I'm a Takizawa Hideaki fan!! SOS was okay..not the best but not the worst.

Maybe Medaka, Churasan, Ame to Yume no atoni, Koi no Chikara, Ruri no Shima, Tiger and Dragon, Kisarazu Cat's Eye ...

They are all on or after 2000, but don't know if they are available in HD (probably not).

I just finished watching Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu and thought it was great. Story wasn't the best, but the characters were all great, enjoyable characters. Lots of character development, and def one of the feel good dramas Smile

My recommendations. They're all filmed in the recent years, definitely after 2000. I prefer more recent dramas because I find the odd fashion sense in the earlier years quite disconcerting.

My number 1 favourite is Security Police. Pardon if you've watched some of them. Mr Green The genre are in brackets.

- Security Police (crime/terrorism thriller)
- Tiger and Dragon (comedy)
- Bambino! (Bildungsroman - young man's character development as he works in an Italian restaurant)
- Bloody Monday (terrorism thriller)
- Jotei (Bildungsroman - young woman working as a hostess)
- Liar Game (psychological thriller)
- Meichan no shitsuji (romance set in a school for the exclusively rich)
- BOSS (crime/detective/police)
- Sapuri (younger guy/older woman romance)

Hi guys-this is my first post-Sorry-you guys all seem to know each other!
Basically I love Doramas---I'm not too fussy-I can watch ones that are just relaxing or whatever-I think too much at work and school as it is so I don't mind if it's silly^_^*
My husband is kind of fussy though-he doesn't really like those younger Johnny boys much-and by not much I mean he says "eeeee......kimochi waruiiiii" when he sees them...so.....
I'm trying to find dramas that we can watch together. So far we enjoyed watching:
Jin
Kekkon Dekinai otoko
at home dad
Home drama
hotaru no hikari
konkatsu
.......
I wanna watch more from edo if possible....We both LOvED Jin...And he loves Ryoma.....
Thank you for any advice....
And nice to meet you!!!
Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!
