Good eye. Keizoku & Trick were both created and directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko. He also directed Jigyaku no Uta (Happily Ever After) & 2LDK, H2, and he directed the series version of Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu "Crying out love at the Center of the World." And lots of others. He's one of my favorites.

Cheers fo the info, I've only seen 2LDK (very good) from that list, so I'll investigate the others.

I watched the last episode of Kisarazu Cat's Eye, typical Kudo Kankuro mania. It often made very little sense, and often resorted to lots of running and shouting. That didn't really matter as it was a lot of fun and the leads where a charismatic bunch, and clearly enjoying themselves.

Just saw the last episode of "JIN"

I have really enjoyed this drama once I got past a few unexplained timeslip bumps.

There is a very interesting discussion going on in the Japanese Drama section of d-addicts.

I adore Osawa Takeo and this is why I started this drama. He is such a good actor and in my eyes a very attractive man. I hope he will be recognised at Award time. The whole story is so satisfying to any fantasy the audience may have. Time travel is on the wish list of most people. I loved the amount of time given for him to remember the fact that he had lived in modern Tokyo, when he was back in Edo time. I am very interested in this period of Japanese history and so it was possible to tie events in with many historical moments.
I am searching for an old drama which I have somewhere with Osawa when he was much younger. So active and goodlooking and very sexy. I think it was called "EX LOVER" or something similar. Abe Hiroshi was also in it . I remember it as a good story and very well done. Not a DVD but a VCD so it's old.

Just finished BOSS, gave it a 7; episodes 4, 5 and 9 were really good; 9 was a Fight Club Rip-off and 4-5 had the greatness of Yamada Takayuki.

Tonight iLm gonna start watching Bara no nai Hanaya, the plot looks good and so does the cast, i just hope Katori Shingo doesnLt ruin it.

I adore him too and I second your opinion on JIN. He deserves an award for his role here. I'm still hoping there'll be season 2 for an open ending like that Smile

regarding Mukashi no Otoko, I'm in the middle of watching it too, still on ep 1. It's a pity I got the vcd with a very low quality and it's not with English subtitle.

have you watched Hoshi no Kinka? I recommend this one Thumbsup

Following the trend, I finished JIN and I enjoyed it all the way through. I won't call it an all time favorite, because I still don't like "Medical" dramas, and I'm not fond of "Time Travel" adventures.

But the cast... you just don't see a cast this strong very often. And the characters they created just kicked the snot out of my prejudices against TV Doctors, and the boredom that's engendered by the ubiquitous time travel paradox.

Really worth seeing.

Next on the list for me was "Tokyo Dogs" but after watching "JIN" and remembering the horrible reviews some of you guys have given "T-Dogs"... I think I'll skip ahead and watch Fumo Chita. I'd kind of wanted to hold on to that one until the reported second season came out. But I don't want to kill the "Terrific Series" roll I've been on of late.

Eve sent me a very nice copy of:

Oatsui No Ga Osuki? (Thank you Eve.)

I'm pretty sure I mentioned the show a while ago, but the original copy I had was some "through a glass darkly" video, and it was missing a few episodes in the middle.

Even so, I loved the show back then, and I liked it even more this time.

It's a family comedy... but this thing mixes farce, with snappy patter, with a touch of slap stick... and does it all seamlessly. And at times it even slows itself down to offer some warm family moments, before sprinting off into another bit of craziness.

I loved this show! I mean, come on... they even did an episode based on farts, without ever descending to "High School" or "toilet" humor.

This is not your run of the mill soft and sentimental family show.

Wanna see what grown-up actors can do with good material? Treat yourself.

Awesome, Geez! w00t!
So glad you liked it. The cast was tremendous.
I was excited to get such a nice copy of it.

Now I think I'll have to try out Jin.
Must be time to head back to the Trade thread and my wish list. Wink
