Oops! Slipped again. I watched episodes 13 -15 of Fumo Chitai over the weekend.

Who knows... maybe watching this show in chunks is making me enjoy it more than I would have if I'd watched it straight through.
Between episodes of "Fumo..." and the "Tora-san" movies I've been watching lately... I'm in geezer heaven. _________________ Manga is to Literature

Small doses make the medicine easier to swallow, eh?

I like it and think I'm gonna continue to watch for the rest episode....
really curious with Ruka |
Just finished it 2 weeks ago, can get depressing at times but definitly worth a watch, the cast did a relly good job considering the topic, there's a thread for the show worth checking out. Just started season two of Code Blue, first seaon started out slow but picked up nicely by the end, but the first 2 episodes this time started out with a big bang, really looking forward to the rest of the episodes. _________________

In a way... but I don't want to leave people with the impression that there's anything medicinal or tough to swallow about this show.
Thing is... this is a very straight ahead drama about a very smart guy who spends 11 years in a Siberian POW camp after the war, and then comes home to get involved in a different kind of war. Business, and the rebuilding of Japan.
Normally, if there's no comedy in a show, it better have a lot of explosions and killings, and hot girls in spray-on clothing to keep me interested. But that's not what "Fumo Chitai" is about.
What it is... is riveting. |
I gotcha... The serious subject matter makes it hard to watch in one steady stream without a break...

Very much so. I've been watching it as the subs come out which means I'm watching a new episode about every two weeks and I'm able to pick up right where it left off.
Lots of good actors here, no spiky haired stick boys. Remember Kenichi Endo? He ran the pastry shop in Shiroi Haru. Completely the opposite here. He is so good here as Sameshima, Karasawa's business rival, the slime practically oozes off of him.
