OK.. I have download ffdshow so I can play Good Luck ep 10. But now I have another problem, I can't play other files that are also coded in Xvid. My other file has something called AC3. What is that?

AC3 is an audio codec. Many XviD files have their audio in AC3. Not all, but many.

Do I have to change anything in my ffdshow to play those files?

*edit: I downloaded ffdshow and ac3 filter and everything worked fine.

Sweat any guru out there that can help me with this?

using virtualdub 1.51, divx pro 5.05

Hello -- I've been trying to convert [with the help of doom9.org] VCD to DivX. But after loading VCDGEAR it only seems to capture the first 10 seconds and then calls the project complete when its quite the opposite.

Thanks in advance! Mr Green

Hmm I don't have much idea about this sort of thing. But i figure this could be done in VirtualDub, albeit at a very painfully slow conversion speed I'd imagine.

Well I'm extracting from a VCD so its suggested that I use VCDGEAR.

Unless there is a way to do it with VirtualDub?

I just havent found a walkthru on such a method. Shake Head

Maybe you can feed VCD mpeg-stream to TMPGEnc without VCDGEAR by this way. Smile

or rip the video from (S)VCD CDs or BIN/CUE images

wait do you want vcd to divx or vcd to mpeg? Rip your dat file from the VCD using isobuster and filter it and rename it so that it will be a .mpg. Now got an mpeg-1 file. If you want it to be mpeg-2 load into tmpgenc and encode it with ntsc under svcd. If you want divx then load into virtual dub and then choose the divx compressor and save.

I ultimately wanted it in DivX, but MPEG is halfway there so I was looking for any information I could get on the topic. I'm still in the process of testing the responses I've gotten. Thanks I'll try them all until I've gotten past the block I experience at the 10 second mark [bumper].
