I couldn't buy it from YJA if I wanted to: they don't ship to the U.S.
I usually ask a friend who's in japan if that's the case, because amazon don't usually ship used goods outside japan

Actually, there is a online service that will buy it from YJA for you and ship it, but their shipping costs are outrageous, even more than the item itself sometimes.
I've heard about it too, but I won't spend that much money just for the shipping cost while I might get another dvd with it _________________

On one of the PBS specials about Nat King Cole they did a whole section on how popular he was in Japan in the 50's and early 60's. He did quite a few tours there, and he did most of his concerts in Japanese, learning the lyrics phonetically. His albums were top sellers in both English and Japanese in Japan.
There's an American stage show about his career, mostly focusing on his music, and it was a major success when it toured Japan a couple of years ago. _________________

I got them from YJA close to US$300, cost me an arm and leg..... That was about 2 years back.
But I'm glad it's brand new and unopened. Come to think of it, I should purchase the First & Last Concert DVD too, I need a brand new one unopened hehe....

I wonder if those scenes are still around. Would love to visit them if I go Japan. Could have a Swing Girls location tour. What you guys think? We should all save some money and plot a journey. Will take alot of time/effort and money, but I'm sure it would be a great experience.

Yeah, it'd be cool... Though the movie is nearly five years old... Not sure if any of that stuff is still around.
I was hoping there would've been a sequel... And there were rumors of one with Juri-chan a couple of years ago...
Guys, I've just finished watching Swing girls!
mite yokattttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
After laughing like crazy through the whole show, I had the blues the minute it ended, these kind of blues you get when you see your best friends off (wakaru ?)
Anyway, I'm so glad I got to see Juri-chan in yet another awsome role involving music!!!
Just wanted to share the feeling (thanks for reading!)

I felt the same way: Right after Nodame, I watched Swing Girls... Juri-chan had me hooked.

I can't remember, but I think there was a blog or site about a guy who went around touring the different sites of the movie locations and took pics or something like that. Wonder if it's still in this thread, or guess have to google and slowly search heh...
I haven't watched Swing Girls in a while, maybe I should watch again this weekend.
