Finally watched the last episode of ROOKIES. Even though it was a typical drama full of cliches, I got attached to the characters and looked forward to watching how they did in their games. Now to watch the SP and movie!

Dayem. That's absolutely nuts. If you consider that you could travel to Japan for a few hundred dollars more it really puts things in perspective. Something is definitely wrong with that pricing structure in terms of encouraging DVD sales. Sweat

Sounds more like they're DIScouraging DVD sales. Crazy

Those two along with Love Shuffle are probably my favorites of '09. They went a long way in helping me forget such "gems" as Tokyo Dogs and Untouchable. bleh

On ep 6 Fumo Chitai, still rocking. Victory! Peace!

Wait, wait, wait a minute!! HE was the oldest brother?? Omg, he was so damn hot in that drama!! What the hell happened?? It's so tragic what happened to him. Sad

Lol. I knew that little fact flew by you somehow. Ah, finished watching Prisoner and sadly, he's on his way to being Linda in that one. It was a fast watch though with only 5 episodes. It played like your typical mini-series where everything bad that could happen, happened. Still haven't decided on whether to go with Smile or Zeni Geba next. Or maybe something a bit off-kilter like Orthros no Inu...

As for Rookies, you can actually skip the SP unless you want to relive all 11 eps of the series. It's mostly a recap with about 2-3 scenes of new material. What stuck with me all throughout watching the drama though is the end theme. Now that's one catchy song.

I hate it when they do an endless recap. bleh

I think you mean "pointless" recap, Evie.

Trying to milk the last drop of ratings, I suppose. Sweat

Couldn't agree with you more. It's like the t.v. equivalent of Cliff Notes and sometimes it gets me thinking that maybe I would've been better off skipping the series and just watching the SP. Imagine all the time I would've saved. Grumble

Episode 11 of Hitomi aired today. OK. I'm getting hooked on it. It's a long way from being another Churasan, but it is starting to take shape. The characters are filling in their roles. And today the appearance of Keiko (Uno Misako) has added a note of glamor that I of course appreciate. So I will continue recording. w00t!

Did find Uno Misako on Youtube singing a duet with some guy. Wish she would sing solo. But she looks good... doesn't sound as good as the gal with Ikimono Gakari. But certainly interesting enough to warrant a continuation of Hitomi. Naughty

The only female stuff that I know of is AAA's "Kimono Jet Girl," but it has the 3 girls singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqsr2iyNBmM I love AAA's music. Plan to sing "Hallelujah" and "Get Chu" with a friend next karaoke sesh. Big Grin

On topic: Gonna attempt to watch the ROOKIES movie and maybe the next episode of Subarashii Kana Jinsei some time today...
