So, you can clothesline them and join them? Well, I suppose as stacked the Lakers were they needed someone to clothesline the opponents and stop 'em from driving to the lane

Well Artest joined the Lakers after battling them the season before in the playoffs, so anything's possible.

actually I kind of like the thought if Raja Bell does join the Lakers team. He just might. If he does, then it'll improve their 3 point game, he made 205 of them in the 2006 Phoenix season. He is quite a good defender, and along with Kobe, and Artest, that would be a formidable defensive team, add Gasol, and Bynum or Odom.

Good point.
Thing is, what players will comprise their bench? Most of those guys are now gone.

raja bell spurned the championship potential for the money. he just agreed to a 3yr $10M contract with the jazz. they aren't even in contention, as much as they'd like to think they are.
oh well, i guess we just bring back shannon and hope he can start playing more intelligently, rather than just athletically. _________________

Mike Miller just signed a 5 year contract for 25M with the Heat. That's actually a good pick up for them, need that unselfish player on a star studded team, plus he's quite deadly from long range...though I hope he doesn't help them too much. _________________

So now there's four guys who want the ball when only one is available during the game.
^ it will come down to chemistry, but I still give the Lakers the edge for 3-peat, as tough as it might be. The heat have big adjustments and a whole new team now.
Jeeesh, how old is he, wasn't he on the Magic when they went to the '95 finals? Heat still need a solid PG, maybe they can also talk Stockton about coming out of retirement, think he's only around 44. _________________

Turn those numbers around and that's the age of his knees. Perhaps he's also waiting to see where Shaq goes so they can join forces again. _________________
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)\Jeremy Lin took a seat in a small room in front of an array of television crews, photographers and print media on Wednesday afternoon. Hefd never seen anything like that at Harvard.
gThis is unbelievable,h Lin said after the Golden State Warriors signed the undrafted free agent guard. gIfve never been part of something like this.h
He became the first Asian-American player signed by the Warriors since 1947. In an area with a large Asian population, Lin becomes an instant celebrity.
gI consider myself a basketball player more than an Asian-American,h said the Bay Area native. gIfm ready to play at this level and I appreciate the support of the Asian community. This is a dream come true. I always wanted to be in the NBA and now I get to do it with the Warriors, the team I grew up watching.h
The 21-year-old Lin averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game as a senior at Harvard. The season was highlighted by a 30-point, nine-rebound performance against Connecticut.
Lin is from nearby Palo Alto. He led Palo Alto High School to a state championship in 2006.
gThis has not sunk in yet,h he said. gIfve had a lot to think about the last 12 hours and I still canft get my head around it. Growing up I had my Latrell Sprewell poster and Joe Smith(notes) jersey.h
Lin became a prospect during his final year with the Crimson and furthered his worth playing with the Dallas Mavericksf summer league team in Las Vegas.
Mavericks president of basketball operations Donn Nelson called Lin before the NBA draft and offered him the opportunity to play in the league. He was originally scheduled to play in the San Francisco Pro-Am League.
gDonn Nelson took care of me,h Lin said. gHe invited me to July 4th festivities, brought me to Dallas for a 10-day training camp and went out of his way.h
Lin became the first Ivy League player to record 1,450 points, 450 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals. He finished his college career as Harvardfs all-time leader in games played (115) and fifth in points with 1,483 points.
gI understand there are not many Asians in the NBA and there are not many Ivy Leaguers in the NBA,h Lin said. gMaybe I can help break the stereotype.h

cp3 wants out of NO. says he wants to play for the lakers, new york, or orlando. don't think it's happening unless NO just wants a salary dump. _________________
