Little Adol says this about Ichi the Killer. The movie is based upon a very strange and sometimes perturbing manga called Koroshiya 1 which can be found on the internet. The movie itself is incredible, just seeing the aftermath of bullying on screen. This is extreme in every way, there is no doubt about that. But if you scrub away the violence and gore, you see a very human tale, that has no real answers.

I would give it three stars out of four. I liked the direct-to-video Ichi which was not made by Takashi Miike, but by Masato Tanno. 1-Ichi is about when ichi was a young adult in highschool, in other words the place where he was bullied.

Answering the question of five movies to study for a project:

Tokyo Story is an incredible story about generations in a family and how people deal with other members.

Seven Samurai in my eyes is the best drama/adventure movie you will ever encounter.

Go is a very fast paced story about a Japanese-Korean boy trying to understand why he has to be put into a certain group.

Tampopo (Dandelion) is about a ramen shop, but there is so much more. It includes Takeshi ('Beat') Kitano.

Hideaki Anno's Ritual has kept me brooding over for a long time. It's about a guy that tries to document a girl that lives by herself in a seven story building that does rituals each day.

Good Luck!! "You Have!"

I just saw the trailer for Devilman the movie, it's a live-action adaptation of Go Nagai's occult manga/anime series. I'm looking forward to it, it's another visual fest like Casshern! Really hope it lives up to it's hype.. Twisted

For people interested, you can streamload the trailer at the official site,
http://www.devilmanthemovie.jp/

or just download it onto your harddisk in Quicktime format.
http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trailers/toei/media/devilman_large.mov

Sheez!! more of such movies need to come out of Japan!! hehe hehe

Not sure if this has been indicated before, but these are my few movies.
- inochi (Makiko Esumi)
- Blue (Manami Konishi)

- Himitsu (Hirosue Ryoko)
- 3 days 2 nights (Makiko Esumi)
- Undo (Yamaguchi Tomoko)

Top 2 (inochi, blue) i think the actress won a price in some international film festival.

i watched the movie "Go" tonight...beginning and the various camera ways it wus shot in were interesting...but most of the time i found it to be pretty boring...i liked how they portrayed the different schooling that the people of different nationalities had to go through but there were too many dull moments to save this film

Laundry
A pretty decent movie, stumbled on its own over creativity, the director tried too much. Kubozuka was funny and his dense character fit him. Koyuki's character was a bit sad, could have more cheerful, I like her smile.
Got few full dramas left Sad Watchin jmovies instead for a little while Smile

Takita Yojiro's "When the Last Sword is Drawn". (Mibu Gishi den)

Featuring: Nakai Kiichi // Sato Koichi // Nakatani Miki

This film is a glorious, epic, tragedy.

"The Last Samuri" was good. But "When the Last Sword..." was, in my opinion, much much better.

It's as exciting and as beautifully filmed as "Last Samuri", but "Last Sword..." does more to show the tragic aspects at the end of the Samuri era.

I'll probably watch "Last Samuri" again when it shows up on cable. But I know I'll watch "Last Sword..." over and over again.

i find the opening scene kinda the best scene in the movie

Kubozuka is like Takuya

Kubozuka -> jmovie
Takuya -> jdrama

they both choose a goods script
