I'm still at it with GT5. While I don't like the lack of damage and the poor A.I. the driving itself is quite the challenge. Those supercars are beasts that can be tough to handle. A few of my friends got the game recently, so I'm looking forward to some racing online. As for the single-player portion, I've made it to Level 15, with much more to go. I've been playing an event or two at a time so progress will be slow to come by, but I don't mind too much. It's nice to have a game like this where I can go for 20-30 minutes at a time and still make some progress.

I've never played Gran Turismo, so I don't understand the whole level thing.

In the driving sims that I have, it's a season's worth of racing on various international tracks with different car classes (GT, GT1, GT2, P1, P2)...

I'll be sticking with GT5, Uncharted 2, and Fallout 3 during the Winter Break. What does everyone else plan on playing during the Holidays?

Finally played the new Medal of Honor. Best way to describe it is a potentially great game made by people who should never be allowed to make games. The reviews are about half correct, other half idiotic. If your experience with gunbattles and knowledge of military history come from playing COD, Doom, or Halo, then refrain from mouthing off about what you think a firefight is like or what feels cliche. You don't know what you don't know.

The game has an excellent plot and flows from one stage to another seamlessly, unlike the "slapped together feeling" COD had. Unfortunately it's way too short. Technical-wise, the environment and stages look great; too bad the entire game engine is one of the worst ever made. The whole game plays like the programmers went on strike halfway through. Constant bugs, unrefined lighting maps, inconsistent barriers and obstacles, etc. The controls have no fine tuned movement and almost feel like an anti-auto-aim.

One of the worst aspects is that control of the game is taken from you many times throughout the game so they can tell a narrative. Sometimes it's as little as just allowing you to walk and nothing else. Other times you can't do anything until they return control to you, leaving you completely clueless on what to do when you finally can move again. The constant jerking around of the view made me nauseous. I was only able to play for about an hour or so before I had to shut it off due to headaches. Despite all this, I still found it fun which is why I call it a potentially great game. If they make a sequel, bring back the advisors and fire all the programmers and designers.
