I just finished "Guilty: Akuma To Keiyakushita Onna"
("Guilty: The Woman Who Made a Deal With The Devil")
http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Guilty_Akuma_to_Keiyakushita_Onna
Kanno Miho ** Kichise Michiko ** Karasawa Toshiaki ** Yokoyama Megumi in a story of dark, murderous revenge.
What's not to like?
Well, there was Tamaki Hiroshi. A second rate actor who did such a bad job with such a large part that he nearly succeeded in ruining the whole show single handedly.
Fortunately the rest of the cast was so good they managed to keep the thing afloat. Even when the writer started spreading the melodrama on a bit thick toward the end.
Certainly worth watching... if a bit flawed.
If you're a fan of the overwrought, you might not have any problem with this one at all. _________________ Manga is to Literature

Aren't all asadora heroines spunky?
She was very good in this series. I also liked Ito Shiro as the dad.

As you know, the asadora has been taking a hit lately so I worked up a "treatment" for a different type of asadora for NHK. The working title is "Sachie the Slacker"
Our heroine, Sachie (Sachiko) lives in Okinawa and only wants to lie on the beach and smoke dope. She has a part time job at a surf shop painting surfboards because, whe the dope supply dries up, she can get a cheap buzz off the paint fumes. One of the running jokes will be people going up to Sachie and saying, "Ogenki desu ka?" and Sachie just staring at them blankly because her brain's so fogged in.
Sachie's dad spends all his time at the local pachinko parlor. He got his money when he tripped and fell on the sidewalk in front of the local orphanage. He sued and won, so they had to close the orphanage and all the kids work in sweatshops in Malaysia.
Sachie's mom became addicted to a K-Drama star, emptied the family bank account and went to Korea. She got arrested for stalking and is doing a stretch in a prison near Seoul.
The only member of the family with any ambition is Sachie's brother Kazuo. Kaz has a stand setup near the U.S. Marine base. It's similar to a ramen stand except it sells condoms and other "adult novelties".
NHK said they'd get back to me.

On a serious note: I am kinda looking for some light comedy drama right now or romance comedy, something similar to Love Shuffle or Yama Onna Kabe Onna or Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. Something that makes you feel good after watching it. |
Satorare
Churasan
Medaka, not as much romance in this one
All of them have light comedy and feel-good too.

I think Muri na Renai would be a perfect fit.

I enjoyed that one too. Very good production values as well.
I went the way of the non-intellect last night and watched Prince Of Tennis. _________________

Thanks for the suggestions, looking up for them right now. Muri na Renai seems to involve alot of comedians in main cast, but I really love Natsukawa Yui's acting. I usually see those comedians in variety shows and other tv shows, curious to know how are they in a drama.
Satorare - I have hear alot of good things about this drama, but it looks like a emotional/touching serious drama. Added to my plan to watch- list for sure.
Churasan - I'm wondering if this have a good story/plot as I have been always wanted to check it out.
Medaka - Heard alot of good things about it too, have a doubt about it being teacher drama though, sounds a bit boring, but it has Mimura in it!
Checking each one out, thanks for the suggestions once again guys.
