Thanks for all your thoughts and well-wishes, minna san. I have been home for 4 or 5 days now, but still haven't slept in a bed. Turns out I broke 2 ribs, not one, so that rules out sleeping on one side or the other, and the fractured vertebrae rule out sleeping on my back so I have been half-sleeping sitting up on a lounge chair. add to that the drugs that knock me out at random times, and i'm liable to fall asleep at any moment As soon as that's passed i'll be firing up my trusty DVD player for some JDrama quality time :-) My mrs noticed some bruising on my back, and when I lifted my shirt, my whole lower back is almost completely black Looks like i'll be off work a while!

Didn't know about this until today. Hope you can get some good sleep and drama watching in, and feel better soon!

@Hi A.D.! Glad to know that you are able to type and post here. Thank you for your health update. I sincerely wish you a complete recovery and a perfect healing. Is anyone in your family taking photos of you now so you can celebrate each step of your recovery day by day and week by week? Some good before and after shots!

Man, this is serious stuff! Is all the bruising from the wound? I'm sure it's also because you've been in the one position for so long. You're in my prayers, AD. Although we're all hoping for a speedy recovery, I hope things heal properly over time.
On the bright side, no work, more drama. _________________

Oh no, I wish you a speedy recovery!!!!
@Beemer, Enna, qilver and all, thanks for your thoughts but I am quite well off compared to poor AD. All is healing well now and I have a walking plaster (which I have to keep until May).
We hope you all have a healthy and speedy recovery. I am glad that a place like Jdorama community can be a safehaven, and a great comfort those who deserve it, especially during times of recovery and tough times. We all wish you both the best in your recoveries and the process in your journey to a healthy self once again.
I do recall in my running days, that I once injured my ankle where I could not put pressure on it for a month and could not exercise for a few months, i felt helpless, and although my previous injury does not truly compare to what each of you are going through right now, I can somewhat relate to those moments of trying to heal and cope with your current physical condition. It is temporary, and with emotional support from family and friends and Jdorama community we can hopefully make it a more bearable and pleasant recovery. Take care and keep posting and watching great J-dramas, k-dramas, etc...ganbatte ne!

My cousin broker her ankle from both sides and had to wear a cast for a long time. Although your injury may not be "as bad", it's still a drag! Hopefully you're allowed to put pressure on it! Apparently that's when you know it's getting better.

Once again, thanks for all the concern. Recovery has been slow & steady, and i'm actually sleeping in my own bed at last (although rolling over & getting up takes about 10 minutes). Still on the sleep-inducing painkillers unfortunately. I'll be happy when my ribs aren't poking me in my, um, ribs when I lie down
Sorry I haven't been around, i'm just not much in the mood for anything ATM
Oh, BTW Wyn-chan, the doc said the bruising was from the breaks in my vertebrae. Apparently when they break, there's a lot of blood, and it has to go somewhere. UGH!

Glad to hear you've been making good albeit slow progress. Good news. Make sure you eat well b/c I'm sure your body needs good nutrition to help repair and recover!
