Yeah, that was totally unexpected... A good Taiga, but a little drawn out.

Aww... poor Hatsu... Although it's difficult for me to disagree with you
Actually what Ichi said to Hatsu a bit didn't make sense, since the one who always argues with each other are Hatsu-Gou, so the words should've been more appropriate if it was said to Chacha. It's as if Ichi can predict what will happen in the future (well, she's the narrator anyway )
Comparing to the sisters in AOI, AOI-Chacha is similar to GOU-Hatsu ; AOI-Hatsu is more similar to GOU-Chacha, don't you think?
Until the end of the novel though, Hatsu is still, not really a likeable character.
Novel Spoiler:
I hope that changes in the TV series. Among the sisters, she's the most experienced one with the fall of castles anyway (4 times experienced the fall of castle, I believe).
However in Ep12,
I have to say Mizukawa Asami acted the annoying-Hatsu very well, though^^ _________________

This being my first post, allow me to say something in defence of Hatsu.
As you all know, reliable japanese historical records (not the ones bastardised by manga and screenplay writers) tell us quite a few things about the the 3 sisters, right down to their facial appearance but nothing whatsoever as to their moods or temperaments. We shall never know the true nature of their personalities until someone invents a time-travel machine, which by then none of us would be alive anyway to partake in its benefits.
Good or bad, that allows many Japanese scriptwriters and actresses over the years to exercise their creative liberties to interpret whatever they choose to - all in the name of entertainment.
Azumi Mizukawa plays Hatsu using her pouting and wailing and blaming to perfection while Rie Miyazawa fleshes Cha Cha as strong and reliable, and she should be solid bcos as you can see, through the magic of makeup, Cha Cha does resemble her mother Ichi (Suzuki Honami) in the physical way she carries herself right down to the way she enunciates her words, employing the same inflexion and speech patterns used by Honami Suzuki.
As you all know, it's historically true that Saru Hideyoshi wasted little time in making Cha Cha his official bedwarmer, producing 2 sons, one of whom becomes his successor and direct challenger to Ieyasu Tokugawa.
They say truth is sometimes stranger than fiction and while I'm NO stoic defender of historical truths or inaccuracies, I do think the writer for this drama, Tabuchi Kumiko, intentionally gave Hideyoshi a gross exaggeration of his true self. The monkey resemblance is certainly not untrue but his mannerisms as a monkey is debatable. However, accomplished veteran actor and 1-film director Kishitani Goro seems to enjoy over-acting his clownish over-the-top antics almost all the time. Let's hope the real Hideyoshi is also laughing his head off as he watches this drama in the other realm.
Yes, we know Kishitani Goro directed Ueno Juri in his offbeat movie Killer Virgin Road so they should share some good times again on the set of Gou and when you consider that Kishitani Goro's real wife is a ROCKER CHICK - well they certainly picked the right guy to drum up this Hideyoshi character.
Hideyoshi (The Second Unifier) was one of the most successful generals and conquerors of his time and although nobody has bothered to make an exact headcount, many daimyo lords, both hostile and friendly, died because of him and mostly through direct battles and territorial invasions. This monkey general fought more battles and campaigns than even Hitler and Napoleon put together and Hideyoshi was involved in countless conspiracies to silence his enemies and make alliances and his politicking is the stuff of many computer and video games of today.
As for our 'heroine' Gou, the HOPE, I can only say that her own REAL history speaks stronger and most accurately than this drama ever can. That's why I find this drama entertaining, but all the good people I like are gone, existing only in flashbacks.

There was info before, that this week they're shooting Ep24. (I'm getting more convinced he'll act the 12 yrs old Hidetada)

While recapping the aired episodes, Mukai Osamu will travel to places related to Gou.
According to "The Television" magazine, Mukai will start appear in GOU in May. (which means he'll appear earlier than Ep24?? The last ep in May is suppose to be Ep20.) _________________ "Let's create a world without war together"
