^^ Read the Frncona is thinking of putting Adrian in the outfield, has played there briefly though not often. Good to get Ortiz bat in the lineup but 2 problems could arise... Adrian's defense would probably be subpar so that may cost them plus taking a huge chance of him getting injured out there. Sweat

Sox manage to avoid the sweep beating the Pirates, 4-2.
Pirates are probably sad to see the Sox leave, the park set an attendance record with this series.

Maybe not if it wrests the team ownership from those stinkin' McCourts. Grumble

Big series starting tonight for the Sox as they travel to Philly, gonna be tough going. Sweat Don't have to face Halladay who pitched another CG in his last start but will be facing Hamels and Lee who's pitched complete game SOs in his last 2 starts. Bow

Dodgers could have used some of those runs from yesterday: they lose to the Twins, 6-4.

After scoring 15 runs two days ago, the Dodgers score none and get shut out by the Twins, 1-0. Shake Head

Sox got blanked last night too in falling to the Phils 5-0. Cliff Lee is on one roll right now, pitched his 3rd shutout in a roll, Applaud has allowed one run in his last 43 innings going 5-0, doesn't get any easier with Hamels coming up. Shameful Cry

Sox lose again in Philly tonight 2-1. Beaten Good outing by Lackey and he drove in the only run, bottom of the order since Crawford went out has not been doing well, think Ortiz is 0-20 or something like that, bleh they need to find some consistency, for all those double digit scoring games they had they've had just as many scoring 0-2 runs. Doh! Yanks win again and meanwhile the Rays are only 1 game behind the Sox, think it's time to get serious again. Fingers crossed

Looks like the Phils are the team to beat at the moment.

^^ Sure seems like they're the team to beat, have the best record in MLB right now. They've been doing it because of the pitching, they have a good hitting team which really hasn't hit all that well this year, once the hitters come around that's gonna be one tough team to beat. Bow

I'm rather surprised they didn't represent the West last season... I guess it was finally the Giants time.

Now the Giants can return to obscurity for another 50 years. Beaten
