The long-awaited fire scene
Seem like it was such a hard scene to shoot, coz the staff burned the sets for real. They had to film the scene in the middle of the hot temperature, and Mukai had to throw himself into the sea of fire. The article says he sighed in relief when he finished filming it only in 1 take.
In the scene, Hidetada went into the fire, to save his wife, Gou, who was stuck in the middle of the fire. And then he carried her out in his arms.
After the director said "Cut!", Ueno Juri seem very embarrassed being carried like that and told Mukai, "Hurry, get me down!".
The fire scene will air on Aug 7, Ep30, otanoshimi~!! _________________
Senhime's wedding story is one of my fav among Tokugawa's well-known stories. Ieyasu ordered Senhime to marry Hideyori although she's still 7, in this adaptation, Gou would definitely oppose this idea and face Ieyasu. And then, Gou is pregnant with a 4th child and she had to beg Hidetada to let her go to Kyoto, to accompany Senhime. I'm really looking forward to these scenes^^
Senhime and Hideyori's separation during the Osaka Siege would be very touching too. That's why I wish Mana can play the teen-Senhime as well
