Naka nai to Kimeta hi is subbed, only 8 episodes, might give it a whirl, have liked Nana in the dramas I've seen her in. Yako no Kaidan, knew about that but needed a brain jolt to recall it, high on my want to watch list, will wait for the subs to be hopefully completed.
Besides Overtime also doing a rewatch of Bus Stop, think this is the 4th watch in the last year, hard to explain why I'm so addicted to it yet if you haven't seen it I recommend it highly.
Okay, do let me know how it goes with Naka nai to Kimeta hi, I don't mind spoilers (such as whether Fujiki gets the girl ).
I've seen Bus Stop and liked it, Ijima Naoko was so pretty in there. I was so surprised to see her in Shukumei. I understand addiction, I've rewatched Love Revolution countless times just to ogle at Suga/Fujiki _________________

Now currently on episode 2 of Densha Otoko. Also seems quite interesting but the male lead is kinda annoying.
I hated the timorous stammering at first! Total wimp-tard. (I mean what do you expect from an actor who played a monkey-pig-man-thing in Saiyuuki, right.) So the character took a while to grow on me. Whereas Yamada Takayuki played it more "normal" in the film version -- his take on Densha Otoko was more "antisocial nerd" than "abject failure as a human being," lol.
The message board netizens in the dorama were an absolute delight, though. KITAAAA!!!

Just watched yesterday the SP "Strawberry Night" with Takeuchi Yuuko...I really like her (she's among my top5 faves), but this isn't the first time I see something with her that doesn't particularly impress me ("Sidecar ni Inu" and "Yomigaeri" also come to mind) - imho SN it's quite poorly written, with a coupla huge plot holes and a set of quite bland characters. Also note that I'm definitely no big fan of gruesome detective stories (I'll rather watch a good horror than CSI or "Seven" or similar stuff) so this may have a part in my bad review...
Have fun with Densha Otoko. Story is very nice but the male lead is REALLY annoying.
I cannot remember what is his name but I avoid this otoko's dramas like plague for the same reason. I use to avoid Fukada Kyoko's dramas too until I realised she is really good at playing evil roles.
Someone recently mentioned King's Restaurant from the 1990s in another thread. It was really enjoyable and I am starting to hunt for the old dramas in the 1990s. Watching Konna koi no hanashi for the second time but I still couldn't figure out why i like this. The male lead has almost zero chemistry with the rest of the cast. Then, i discovered Team saiaku de saikouna futari yesterday. I can't figure why i am following the 11 episodes now because dramas with dark themes or juvenile delinquency aren't my cup of tea. I fell off my chair when I saw PM Koizumi in the opening scenes and he had long takes with a few spoken lines. ....cool.

Ito Atsushi?
Brrr really bugs me too that tiny gnome guy, one of my least favorite actors in the whole jdorama world - hated when he was paired with one of my favorite actors Arata in Mori no Asagao - couldn't watch it.
He spoilt so many dramas for me that I cheered when he XXXXX in the first Umizaru movie.
Anyway OT going to check out the first episode of Awakara under the Bridge - have some hopes for it ....

I don't blame it on the actor so much as it seems the writers were intent on making the character over-the-top pathetic. I'm up to episode 6 of Densha Otoko. I've gotten use to the male lead and the story is addicting. However, I still have a couple issues with it so far. There's little chemistry between the leads and Ito Misaki's character isn't getting enough focus. _________________

Funny thing is, the actor who played Densha/Yamada played the exact same character in the drama Suekko Chonan something. And his name was also Yamada. _________________

I've watched it twice, didn't care too much for the lead actor either, one in the movie also wasn't too great. The drama though was an okay watch due to all his internet friends, they really made it entertaining, you'll see how much more they impact the show towards the end.
Up to episode 7 of Overtime, also about 1/2 thru the Kurosagi movie, no YamaPi fan but have to admit I do like his character in the series. _________________

Ito Misaki is physical perfection itself, but she sucks the life and energy out of every role. Not to mention the chemistry out of her scenes with her leading men (like in Suppli/Sapuri ).
But yeah -- for all its imperfections that dorama does have its charms.

I can not stand the drama and the movie version as well.
And I just did not understand all the hype and praise "Densha" man got.
So then on a slow evening, I red through the translated original chat messages and they were great.
It is quite a long read, so better skip some reaction messages to save time.
But let me tell you, both the drama and movie do not capture the beauty of the story at all.

Yamada Takayuki who played Densha Otoko in the movie is a wonderful actor, has grown so much since the movie back in 2005. One of the best young actors Japan has now, and incredibly versatile. Looking forward to his two very completely different roles in Yuusha Yoshihiko and Arakawa Under the Bridge. _________________

Finished Densha Otoko. I have to agree despite its imperfections like the male lead being annoying, Ito Misaki's underacting (delivered almost all of her lines in the same tone of voice that was so low I had to turn the volume up on full blast), it's actually a fun and enjoyable drama. Great story, and while the internet fans get grating at times they were funny other times. The one actress that stood out was Shiraishi Miho. Her heartbreaking-bitchy character was really fun to watch. _________________

I like Yamada quite a bit myself but thought he was a bit miscast, really needed more of a nerdish type pf actor, even though he did an okay job in the movie think most people don't think of him as the character he played, but on the other hand thought he did a great job in Byakuyako and H2. _________________
Finished Shiawase ni Narou yo. Meisa looked great as expected.
The show itself wasn't any special, but it wasn't bad either. It was predictable, but anyone whose a fan of either of the leads should check it out.
It's just too bad there weren't softsubs to go with the HD raws.
