Honestly, while it was wrong for Stern to nix the trade I'm glad the trade didn't go through for the Lakers. The front court has been a strength of the Lakers and I don't know why they would want to tinker with that.

Well, enough to screw up the trade. Sad

I agree with deseipher, I don't think the trade would make the Lakers better than they are now.

It wouldn't have, and as a Laker fan I didn't care much about the trade at all. However, voiding it was actually counterproductive to what the NBA was trying to do, protect the Hornets. The deal would have worked out best for New Orleans, giving them a handful of talented players (two of them they could use as trading chips) and a first round draft pick.

^ Well now you've got a disgruntled Lamar Odom... Wonder how that'll affect his play when the season starts.

NBA trades Chris Paul to the Clippers

The NBA has traded Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that will pair star forward Blake Griffin with one of the gamefs top point guards.

The league-owned New Orleans Hornets will receive guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the Minnesota Timberwolvesf unprotected 2012 first-round pick in return for Paul.

As part of the deal, Paul has agreed to not opt out of his contract after this season – allowing the Clippers to keep him at least through the 2012-13 season.

The trade was formally approved Wednesday night. Paul plans to fly to Los Angeles Thursday to be introduced by the Clippers.

gToday was a big day for the New Orleans,h Hornets general manager Dell Demps said. gIt was bittersweet.h

The trade ends an embarrassing week-long drama that began when the Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets reached agreement on a three-team trade to send Paul to the Lakers only to have NBA commissioner David Stern veto the deal after rival team owners complained. The three teams tried to restructure the trade, but the Lakers eventually backed out when it was clear the leaguefs demands couldnft be met.

A wise decision... He didn't want to end up a cripple for the remainder of his life.

New coach, new players, same old Lakers: They miss free throws and turn the ball over in crunch time and lose to the Bulls, 88-87. Shake Head

17 turnovers (eight by Kobe alone) and 11-20 from the FT line. Shake Head

Another miserable Christmas loss for Laker fans. bleh

Miami routs Dallas, 105-94.

I realized this was going to be a tough season for the Cs because there are too many games in a short amount of time. Not good for the old players. But it was unbelievable how lost the offense looked at times without Pierce. Sweat

It didn't help with Garnett trying to choke Knick players. Crazy

KG was looking tired in the 4th quarter of that game. Sweat
He knows he should have made that final shot, he was probably anger. A veteran player should know better, than to react, but it is KG.

Lakers losing again, 68-60, in the 3rd quarter to the Kings. Shake Head

I can't watch them play anymore: Too frustrating. bleh

EDIT: Lakers lose, 100-91... Mike Brown has yet to win a game as the Laker coach.

Miami beats Boston, 115-107.

Tough times so far for the champions (LA, Boston, Dallas) of the past few years.
